Wondering how to raise your profile, drive more people to your items and increase your sales? Here's a few ideas to help you along the way…

Use eBay Shop marketing tools
Opening an eBay Shop doesn't just enable you to list items more cheaply for longer, it also provides a number of easy-to-use marketing tools:

  • E-mail marketing
  • Promotional flyers
  • Cross-promotions
  • Search Engine Keyword Management
  • Brand marketing material

You can also drive more traffic to your Shop by using relevant keywords in your Shop title, Shop description and custom categories. Read more about the anatomy of a shop.

Use other eBay marketing tools
  • Cross-promote your items, so that when a buyer shows interest in one of your items (such as by placing a bid), eBay will display your other items to the buyer.
  • Promote your featured items as your Top Picks. You can select which items will appear in buyers’ top picks pages
  • Market your business by displaying your logo and a short message on your End of Auction and Invoice emails. Find out more in Logos and Branding

Help your customers to get to know you
Experienced eBay buyers know a lot about buying safely on eBay. The more they know about you and the items you're selling, the more likely they'll be to buy:

  • Fill your item descriptions full of perfectly-spelt details and pictures
  • Include details of your return policy and any warranties you offer
  • Design a first-rate About Me Page and put your picture up on My World
  • Write reviews of the products you sell

Keep them coming back for more
  • Offer the best possible customer service you can. Going that extra mile will help you to stand out from the crowd.
  • Include your company's marketing leaflets with the items you send.
  • Create a mailing list – but remember to get a buyer's permission before you send them marketing emails.
  • Link to your eBay Shop from your own website.
