Skype for Buyers and Sellers


How can sellers use Skype in item listings?

Using the Sell Your Item process, sellers can opt-in to add either a Chat or Voice button (or both) to their listings. The buttons give sellers the chance to answer questions quickly and build trust with buyers.

Sellers, use this free service to:

· Choose to add either voice and chat (or both) to listings
· Build trust with buyers when selling complex or high priced items
· Answer questions quickly, easily and on your own schedule
· Connect easily with buyers and turn them into repeat customers






After completing your listing you will need to link your Skype name to your eBay account (if you haven't done so already). Do this by going to my eBay > My Account > Preferences > Member-to-Member Communication Preference where you will be able to add your Skype name. In order for the Skype buttons to show status on your listing and allow buyers to contact you, you need to make the following changes in Skype:

· Open Skype, and click Tools > Options > Privacy.
· Select the "anyone" option and the "Allow my status to be shown on the web" tickbox.

Additional tips for using Skype on eBay

· Sellers: Be sure to include in your listing when you're available to receive Skype calls.
