UNIQUE MOTORSPORT CAR ON EBAYMOTORS.CO.UK
15 December 2004
Auction of Xsara WRC replica to raise funds for Great Ormond Street
It’s the gift all motorsport enthusiasts will be hampering for this Christmas – the chance to own a Citroën Xsara WRC replica, signed by world rally champion Sébastien Loeb. The unique road-legal vehicle, also signed by Citroën Sport team manager Guy Frequelin, is up for grabs in a charity 10-day, bids-only sale on ebaymotors.co.uk, the leading web based auction service.
With just 5,500 miles on the clock, this replica car looks like the world rally dominating Xsara WRC and has been specially modified by Citroën specialist Cituning. It has been maintained to an as-new standard by Citroën UK Limited as part of the company’s press fleet.
Based on a 2002 Xsara VTS coupe, the replica’s conversion from a standard car to the WRC replica amounts to £8,000, and it even comes with the highly sought-after number plate X100 WRC.
In addition to signing the bonnet, Loeb and team boss Guy Frequelin have also signed the car’s log book adding further to the value of the unique vehicle.
To view and/or bid on the car visit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4512436938&fromMakeTrack=true . The auction started on Tuesday, December 14 and lasts for 10 days. The highest bidder will win the car and proceeds from the sale, after costs, will be presented to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Over 70,000 vehicles were sold on ebaymotors.co.uk last year, and a car now sells every four minutes. It’s easy to buy and sell, with an enormous range of cars and prices to choose from. And increasingly, rare and unique cars are being auctioned, including a Ferrari Enzo which sold for over £500,000.
