World Cup fever boosts online motor home sales by 700%

It's Destination Germany for 100,000 English supporters in just 58 days time and, according to eBay Motors, with hotels and motor home rentals booked out across the twelve host cities, footie fans are turning to the internet to track down a place to stay during the championship.
The UK's No.1 online automotive site has seen an unprecedented campervan craze, with a record 700% jump in the number of motor homes and caravans bought on the site in the last three months. Demand has reached such fever pitch that every motor home listed is receiving 35% more bids than at any other time this year.
With just eight weeks to go until England kick off against Paraguay in Frankfurt, fans are now racing online to snap up the thousands of second hand campers, caravans and Winnebagos being auctioned off on eBayMotors.co.uk by owners keen to capitalise on the surge in demand for World Cup motor homes.
The classic VW campervan remains the most popular motor home searched for on eBay Motors.co.uk, followed by Mercedes and Ford models.
Charlie Coney of eBay Motors says, "The autocamping craze we're seeing on the site at the moment taps into a unique travel dream for thousands of England supporters.
