Collecting Channel to Serve as Lead Content Partner for eBay

NORFOLK, VA, June 6, 1999 - The Collecting Channel (www.collectingchannel.com) today announced it has reached an agreement with eBay® to provide collecting-related information on the eBay website.

eBay users are expected to have access to the new content from within eBay's "Inside Scoop" and "Front Page News" areas throughout each of eBay's major categories such as antiques, coins, stamps, and other special areas.

The first in a series of category content launches provided by the Collecting Channel is currently available on eBay's new "Star Wars® Stuff" category page at http://pages.ebay.com/starwars/.

"As millions of fans head to the theaters to see 'Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace,' they can also access timely information about Star Wars memorabilia collecting from 'Inside Scoop' on eBay," said Barry Friedman, CEO of Collecting Channel. "The Collecting Channel is thrilled to partner with the leading person-to-person online trading site, and provide a resource for eBay users to connect to collecting news online."

The Collecting Channel will serve as the leading source of online collector content for eBay's website. The Collecting Channel draws upon extensive internal content resources spanning virtually every collecting interest from its team of outstanding experts in key areas, in addition to dozens of leading specialized sources collectively called the "Friends of the Collecting Channel."

"Thanks to the Collecting Channel, we hope to provide the eBay community with even more collector resources," said Steve Westly, vice president of marketing and business development of eBay. "We believe that offering access to the latest collecting information by the Collecting Channel will enhance the user experience and give yet another great reason to trade on eBay."
