If you are a charity who simply wants to be featured on the eBay for Charity and MissionFish pages (without a specific campaign in mind) please click here.

Benefits
Along with standard eBay for Charity benefits, which include:
  • eBay fee donation. To reflect the generosity of the eBay community, eBay will donate the same percentage of its final value fees as the seller donates of the final selling price. To qualify for eBay for Charity Campaigns, 100% of proceeds minus any direct costs must go to charity, therefore eBay will also donate 100% of its final value fees.
  • Search. Buyers can search for eBay for Charity listings through Advanced Search and customised search options, as well as on the dedicated eBay for Charity hub page.
  • Item visibility. Each eBay for Charity listing has a distinctive blue and yellow ribbon in search results and the title bar. It also has information about your donation amount and the benefiting charity in the item description.
eBay.co.uk is able to offer additional benefits for appropriate fundraising campaigns and events, these include:
  • Consultancy and guidance.
  • Marketing and promotional opportunity. For example, onsite marketing on eBay.co.uk can range from inclusion on the A-Z index all the way through to high-visibility placements on the eBay for Charity Homepage and even the Main eBay.co.uk Homepage.
  • Official eBay endorsement and backing for your campaign.
  • Enhanced support and security.
  • Creation of bespoke campaign accounts and configurations.
The level of support and consultancy will depend entirely on the magnitude and profile of the campaign. At its simplest level, we can offer some marketing and promotional opportunity, at its most advanced, we can 'partner' to develop a fully integrated campaign.

Criteria
Campaigns are selected on the basis of the items and/or experiences that can be obtained for sale or auction. Therefore, any organisation or charity, whether large or small, wanting to fundraise can apply. Broadly, we look for the following types of items and experiences:

  • Items or experiences with celebrity or star association
  • Unique items

  • High-value items
  • Special interest items, experiences or memorabilia
  • Anything that will capture the public imagination and have appeal
If you are able to secure some cool items and experiences, then please get in touch. See below for information on how to do this.

Eligibility
In order to be selected, we stipulate the following:
  • 100% of proceeds minus direct costs must go to charity. This the key qualifier.

Other hints and tips
  • Become familiar with eBay and learn how to sell. This can done by visiting the Help and eBay Explained pages and exploring the marketplace.
  • Become familiar with the eBay for Charity programme.
  • Whatever the scale of the campaign, consider a national, regional or local media partner if you haven't already. Generating awareness and publicity will ultimately determine the success of the campaign and maximise fundraising potential. Getting people to the campaign is essential.
  • Leverage contacts, sponsors, supporters and any other resource available to get hold of as many great items and experiences as possible. These will form the foundation for the campaign.
  • In addition to the fundraising opportunity, an eBay for Charity Campaign is a powerful vehicle for generating publicity and awareness for your charity, campaign, brand or organisation. So ensure your marketing and publicity efforts are firmly in place.
  • As an engaging component to the campaign, you might want to consider encouraging the public and eBay community to sell items and donate a percentage of the final selling price to your fundraising initiative or charity. Please see the 'eBay for Charity' help pages for more information.
  • Items and experiences of the sort described in the 'criteria' section above tend to do extremely well on eBay. To maximise the opportunity, it's often best to have a range and variety to suit all budgets and tastes (that said, there are no hard and fast rules). For larger campaigns, it's advisable to a have series of special items and/or experiences to grab attention and compel people to visit the campaign.
