Ever wonder how people use different size fonts or different color backgrounds in their eBay listings? These and other effects are actually quite easy to create with a little knowledge of HTML code.

HTML, short for HyperText Markup Language, is the language used by websites such as eBay to control how text and graphics are displayed. Sellers can use HTML in the Description field of the Sell Your Item form to give their listings a little pizzazz. The following tutorial will help get you started using HTML on eBay.

	An easy way to write HTML code is to use an HTML editor program such as Microsoft FrontPage. These programs allow you to create HTML pages by using menus and toolbars — very similar to how a word processor works. You can then choose to view the HTML code and copy and paste it directly into the Description field on the Sell Your Item form.
