Clicking on the Sell link in the top navigation bar will bring you to the Sell Your Item form. Here are a few tips for completing this form:
- When filling in the Title field, make sure to use keywords that are descriptive enough so that anyone viewing the title by itself will understand what you are selling. For example, if you are selling a Superman comic book, even though you selected the 'Comic Book' category when you posted the item, you should still include the word 'Comic Book' in your title.
- Enter a good and accurate description in the Description field. Include as much information as possible about the object model number, year produced, color, dimensions, and most importantly the current condition of the item. Don't be afraid to emphasize the postive things about your item a little or even include a story about the item; just make sure that you are being truthful.

- Consider using PayPal when selecting the payment methods that you will accept from winning bidders. PayPal allows sellers to accept credit and debit cards from buyers.

- By providing complete and accurate information in the Postage & Payment Terms section, the Checkout process will be much quicker for you and your buyer at the close of the auction. Information you provide includes: payment methods, post-to locations, your payment address, postage costs, and payment instructions. The last of these two items: postage costs & amp;payment instructions, are displayed in the active listing as well as in the end of auction email and the Checkout process. By supplying this information you can reduce the number of emails back and forth between you and your buyers, and speed up the time it takes to finalize the sale.

- If you do not want the Checkout button to appear in your auction listings, simply go to the My eBay page and click on the 'Selling' tab. In the upper right hand corner is the link 'Update my Checkout Preferences'. Clicking on this link will take you to the Checkout Preferences page where you may turn off the Checkout feature. The Postage Costs and Payment Instructions you provided when setting up the listing will still appear in your auction listing.
From the Checkout Preferences page, you may also allow your buyers to edit the total payment amount of an item they just won. Situations which might warrant this include: 1) your decision to offer a multiple item discount, or 2) your buyer is interested in using a different form of postage. The buyer may not reduce the price of the item, but rather may edit the additional charges you specified in the Payment Details.
- Before setting your starting price, you might want to see what similar items sold for on eBay. You can do this by searching Completed Items on the Smart Search Page, which can be accessed by clicking on Search in the top navigation bar.
- If you would like to include a photo in your listing, eBay's Picture Services makes it easy for sellers to include one digital image in each of their eBay listings for free and additional images for only 15 cents each. More information on how to add photos to your listings can be found in our Photos section later in this course.
