Once a listing closes, no more bids are accepted. At this time, the seller is sent an email from eBay containing the winning bid price and contact information for the bidder. The Checkout Process The buyer is also sent a notification email containing your email address and the winning bid price, in addition to a link that brings the buyer back to eBay to begin the Checkout process. Your buyer may also gain access to the Checkout process by returning to the closed listing or through the My eBay page. The Payment Address you supplied during the creation of the listing will be displayed to your buyers in Checkout if they choose to pay by cheque or postal order. This address will be used for all items you sell. Any payment methods you've selected will be displayed to your buyers in Checkout. If your buyer is paying with PayPal, they can complete payment in Checkout too. Entering Payment Details for Buyers If you did not provide Postage Costs in your listing, your buyer may choose to send you an email requesting that you now provide this information. A link is provided for you in the email to update the payment details information and a new invoice is sent to the buyer. Keep in mind that buyers are only bound to the terms you specified in the listing. Updated details will appear in Checkout and on the Checkout Summary, but not on the Item Listing. You may also update the Payment Details and send an invoice from My eBay and the Item Listing page. For Shop items, you can specify the total for a buyer once they have requested the total. It is important to note that once a buyer clicks on the 'Buy-it-Now' button in a Shop listing, your inventory will be deducted accordingly, even if your buyer has not completed the payment process. After Checkout is Complete After the buyer completes the Checkout process, you will receive an email confirmation with the buyer's postal address, payment method and any message the buyer has entered. My eBay and the Item Listing will show links to the Checkout Summary. This indicates that Checkout is complete.
If the buyer paid through PayPal with a credit card, payment is complete! You will receive a confirmation email from PayPal informing you of payment. If your buyer will be using another payment method, you will want to wait until payment arrives before posting the item. The checkout process instructs the buyer to send payment right away. Viewing the Checkout Summary Once a buyer completes Checkout, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the buyer's postage address, payment method, and any message the buyer entered. The latest Checkout information is always displayed on the Checkout Summary page, including payment details, the buyer's address, the payment method selected, etc. Links to do most of the things you'll need to do after the listing or purchase are also available here, such as leaving feedback. You can get to the Checkout Summary page either from the My eBay page, the item listing page, and the Checkout confirmation email.
