Why does my email address appear when I have a User ID?

If you see your User ID and email address, it's because you used eBay's "Sign In" feature and indicated in your preferences that you wanted to see email addresses. Because you chose this preference, your email address as well as others will be visible to you temporarily (this expires after 40 minutes of inactivity, or when you exit your browser).
