Terms And Conditions

The promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over except employees (and their families) of eBay International AG ("eBay") , and any affiliates, subsidiary companies, as well as representatives or agents of those companies and anyone else who may be involved with the promotion. eBay reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.

  2. Entrants must e-mail the receipt showing that they have bought an item on eBay using eBay Payments to ebaypaymentscompetition@ebay.com along with an answer to the tiebreak question in order to be entered into the prize draw.

  3. The entry each day with the best answer in the judge's opinion to the tiebreak question will win £1000, which shall be paid by cheque.

  4. All entries become the property of eBay and will not be returned.

  5. The closing time for the receipt of entries each day is 11:59:59 BST. The winner will be selected and notified by e-mail within a week from being selected as a winner. To contact you eBay will use the e-mail supplied when you registered with eBay.

  6. If eBay is not able to contact the winner by midnight seven days after a draw, eBay reserves the right to hold a second draw for that respective day and appoint a new winner.

  7. Only one entry for each purchase of an item on eBay is allowed.

  8. Lost and delayed entries will not be accepted. No responsibility is accepted for lost or delayed entries.

  9. The winner's names can be obtained by sending a SAE to the promoter, eBay at PO Box 31478, London W4 5BZ after 30 June 2002 and entrants agree to their name being supplied in this way by eBay to an enquirer.

  10. eBay's User Agreement will apply in all transactions

  11. Any foreign currency transactions will be paid to the winner in sterling using eBay's conversion rate.

  12. Winners may be required to sign Publicity and Liability Release Forms prior to being entitled to a prize.

  13. The judge's decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

  14. The promotion is governed by English law. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these rules, the eBay User Agreement and the eBay Privacy Policy.

  15. eBay shall not be liable in contract or tort (including negligence) or for any breach of statutory duty or in any other way for any loss or damage howsoever arising to the entrant resulting directly or indirectly from entry to this promotion. Nothing in this term shall limit eBay's liability for death or personal injury.

  16. By accepting a prize, a winner irrevocably grants eBay permission to use his or her name or likeness for advertising, promotional or publicity purposes.

  17. eBay is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network, online system or computer hardware or software failure that may affect entry to this promotion.
