Every eBay member has a feedback profileit includes a rating number in parentheses, as well as comments from other members you've bought from and sold to.
For example: Skippy (125) means that the eBay member with the User ID Skippy has received positive feedback from at least 125 other eBay members.
How it works
The feedback rating system is easy. You receive:
- +1 point for each positive comment
- 0 points for each neutral comment
- -1 point for each negative comment
- A star icon
for 10 or more comments. The colour of the star tells you how many comments the member has received.
In the Feedback rating system members receive:
- +1 point for each positive comment
- 0 points for each neutral comment
- -1 point for each negative comment
What does a buyer's feedback tell me?
A buyer's feedback can tell you many important things. The following are just a few examples:
- How quickly a buyer paid for his or her item after buying an item
- How the buyer worked with the seller to resolve any issues that arose after a sale
- Whether the buyer abided by the seller's instructions regarding such things as accepted payment methods and who can bid.
When should I view or leave feedback?
In general, there are two instances:
- Always check your buyer's feedback. The Feedback Profile can answer many questions about how a person does business.
- Always leave feedback for you buyer after you complete a transaction. Your comments help other sellers and keep eBay a safe place to trade.
