Share and Learn with other eBay Members on the Community Help and Discussion Boards.

You're never alone on eBay: you're part of the Community! Whether you're an old hand who's been a member for years, or a newbie just getting to grips with buying and selling, you can learn from other members by joining in with the fun on the Community Help and Discussion Boards.

You can discover the eBay Community by clicking on the "Community" tab at the top of any eBay page

On the Community Hub Page you can see all the useful services and facilities available to you.

On the right hand side you can see a list of the most recent Announcements made by eBay and a link to the Announcement Board. Think of the Announcement Board as your first stop if you need the latest news from eBay: it's the Community's notice board. If eBay makes a change to the site functionality, is holding a pricing promotion such as a Free Listing Day or changing a Listing Policy, you'll hear it hear first.

You can also access the Community Help and Discussion Boards here. Click on the "Community Help Boards" link for a full list.

There are lots of boards to choose from - it depends what you want to find out. There are specific boards for payments and postage-related discussions and Global Trading; there are also boards for members in the Republic of Ireland and people who are new to eBay or to selling.

Some Boards are just for fun. You can check out The Round Table, The Nag's Head and The Family, Home and Garden for good-humoured chat.

You don't need to log in to read the Community Boards. Anyone can just read the posts that other members make: this is called "lurking."

On the boards you can see the titles of the Discussions other people have started. The number on the right hand side is the number of replies the Discussion has received since it began. The date indicated when someone last made a reply on the Discussion "thread." If an eBay employee has posted a reply a little eBay logo will appear by the thread title.

To read the replies, click on the title of the Discussion and browse the replies. You can identify a reply from an eBay employee because it comes in a pink bar. This is why eBay employees are sometimes called "pinks" or "pinkliners"

If you want to ask a question or start a discussion, or simply add your reply to a thread that's already going you will need to log in. Click the "Board log in" link at the top of the page in the right hand corner, and enter your eBay User ID and password. To add to a discussion, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Add Discussion."

To start a new discussion you will need to give your discussion a name and then in the main field, put your question or comments. Then when it is posted, you just have to wait for the replies to flood in. .

Once you've done it once, you'll want to do it again. The eBay Community are generous with their help and advice and always up for a chat or joke.
