Bidder |
Use this option to see a list of the items that a particular bidder has bid on or bought.
To search for items by bidder, for privacy reasons, you must know the member's User ID. If you know the eBay member's email address, you can find their User ID by using Find a Member . To protect bidders' privacy, not all items that this member has bid on may be displayed.
Although you can use search by bidder to view your own current listings or history, we recommend that you use My eBay instead. My eBay has many more functions to manage your bidding and buying activities. |
On the left side of the page under Search, click the “Items by Bidder” link In the Enter Bidder’s User ID box, type the bidder’s User ID To include completed listings, select the tick box. Category |
Use this option to search for items quickly in a specific area of the site. You can search within a category in a basic or advanced search, your search results, or in an eBay Motors search.
Note: Some categories also include Product Finders to help you narrow your search by characteristic, for example, by colour, size, or condition. Learn more about Product Finders. |
From the In this category list, select a category. Select additional search options, as needed. Click the Search button.
Note: You can also search by category from a basic search, from your search results, or in eBay Motors.
You can search by category in a basic search in the same way, or from your search results by selecting a new category from the list to the right of the Search box, and clicking Search. |
Completed Listings |
Use this option to see what a particular item has sold for—maybe so you can decide how to price a similar item you want to sell or to see what you should bid or pay for a similar item. (Learn more about bidding on eBay.) Searching by completed listings gives you listings that have ended within the last 15 days. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Select any additional search options, as needed. Select the Completed listings only tickbox. Click the Search button.
Note: If you are not currently signed in, you will be prompted to do so before you can see your search results. |
Country or Region |
Use this option to find items located in another country, for example, dishes from Italy, jewellery from Indonesia, or paintings from Japan. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to Location and choose an option.
Note: For detailed information about the each option, click the “Learn more about search locations” link below the options. Click the Search button.

Currency |
Use this option to find items listed in a particular currency, for example, U.S. dollar, Euro, or Swiss franc. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to Currency and choose an option from the list. Click the Search button.

Favourite Searches |
Use this option to run your saved search. Learn more about Saving Your Favourite Searches.
Notes: You must be signed in to see a list of your Favourite Searches. You can run up to 10 of your most recent Favourite Searches from the Advanced Search page or the main Buy page. You can see all of your searches (up to 100) from My eBay under All Favourites, Searches. |
From the Favourites list near the top right of the page, select the search you want to run and click the Go button.
You can also search by Favourite Search from My eBay and from the main Buy page.
To search by Favourite Search from My eBay:
Go to My eBay. On the left under All Favourites, click the “Searches” link. Do one of the following:
Select the search name you want to run.
or To run the search quickly, scroll to the bottom of the page and from the Shortcuts to My Favourites list, choose the search you want to run.
To search by Favourite Search from the Buy Hub page:
Go to the Buy Hub page. On the right, under My eBay at Glance, select a Favourite Search from the Favourites list.

Keyword inTitle/Description |
Use this option to search using words that describe the item you're looking for. By default, eBay searches for these keywords in the title of the item listing.
In addition to searching the title of the item listing, you can choose to also have eBay search the description of the item listing.
In some cases, eBay will expand your search automatically to include items based on the intent of your search rather than matching the exact keywords. For more information, see Keyword Search Category Expansions. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. To search both the item title and description, select the Search title and description tickbox. Select any additional search options, as needed. Click the Search button. Optional: To narrow your search results, use search commands.
Note: You can also search by keyword in any search box. |
ISBN |
Use this option to search by ISBN, which is a unique identifier for books. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type the ISBN number. Do not include the hyphens. Click the Search button.

Item Number |
Since item numbers are unique, use this option to give an exact match, saving you the time of having to scroll through multiple listings. You can find the Item Number on the item’s listing page, to the right of the listing title. The item number is also included in any email that you receive about the listing. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type the item number. Click the Search button.
Note: You can also enter the item number in any search box. |
Multiple Item Listings |
Use this option to search for a group or a collection of similar items or lots. Learn more about multiple item listings. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to Multiple Items listings. Select an option from the list. Type the number of listings in the box. To search for items listed as lots, select the Items listed as lots tickbox. Click the Search button.

Seller, Single Seller |
Use this option to see items listed by a particular seller. When you search by seller, you enter the seller’s User ID, and eBay displays the exact match as well as any close matches. In addition to accessing the seller’s items, you can also access the seller’s member profile and eBay Shop. |
On the left side of the page under Search, click the “Items by Seller” link. In the Enter seller’s User ID box, type the seller’s User ID. Select or clear any of the tickboxes, as needed. To sort your search results by time or price, select your sort option from the Sort by list. To choose the number of results you want to display on a page, select a number from the Results per page list. Click the Search button.

Seller, Multiple Sellers |
Use this option to see items listed by a group of sellers. When you search by seller, you enter the sellers’ User IDs.
Notes: You can search for up to 10 sellers at one time. You can also exclude up to 10 sellers from your results. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to From Sellers, and select the From specific sellers option. Enter the sellers’ User IDs (not the store names) in the box. Do one of the following:
To search for all matching items offered by the specified sellers, select Include from the menu. To search for all matching items except those offered by the specified sellers, select Exclude.

Seller, My Favourite Sellers |
Note: For privacy reasons, you must know the member's User ID to use this feature. If you know the eBay member's email address, you can find their User ID by using Find a Member.
Use this option you can search among favourite sellers. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to From Sellers and select the From My Favourite sellers option. Click the Search button.

Postcode |
Use this option to search for items listed by sellers in your area, either by postcode or by town. Finding items near you can help you avoid high postage costs, especially if you're considering purchasing an item that is oversized or fragile.
To narrow your search further, you can choose to search within a selected distance of the postcode or town. For example, you can search within 25 miles of the postcode HP6 6SX or within 50 miles of Leeds.
Note: If a seller entered an invalid postcode, their listing will not display in a regional search. |
In the Enter keyword or item number box, type your keywords. Scroll down to Items near me, select the tickbox, and choose a distance limit. Enter a postcode, or choose a nearby town. Click the Search button. Review your search results and if needed, do any of the following:
To change the distance or postcode, on the left side of your search results page, scroll down to Search Options, revise the location, and click the Show Items button to search again. To sort your search results by nearest distance, from the Sort by menu above the item list, choose Distance: nearest first. (If you did not previously enter a postcode, you may be asked to enter one.) The page refreshes and the distance and location information displays in the right column
Note: If a seller entered an invalid postcode, their item will display at the bottom of the list.
