Managing Your Donation Account

The Donation Account in My eBay allows you to view and manage your donation activity associated with sales from eBay for Charity listings.

You can check the status of your donations, view your list of favourite charities, select your payment method, make your donation payment, download your donation history.

Your Donation Account is located under the My Account tab and has the following views:

  • My Summary: A snapshot of your eBay for Charity activity.

  • Donations Due: See and make all eBay for Charity donations that you owe.

  • Donation History: Track the status of your eBay for Charity listings, and track Gift Aid for your donations.

My Summary

'My Summary' is a My eBay snapshot of your eBay for Charity activity. It appears in the My Account tab and includes:

  • Announcements: News for sellers about eBay for Charity.

  • My Activity: The combined value of all of your eBay for Charity donations, plus breakdowns of your listings, transaction count, and donation value for the current year and month. It will only appear if you have prior eBay for Charity listings.

  • “You Are a Direct Seller of the Following Charities” is a list of charities that you have added to your eBay seller ID, and will only appear if you are a

Charity Direct Seller. If your organisation’s name should appear here, but doesn’t, please check your MissionFish Charity account settings .

Donations Due

Your Donations Due page lets you see and make all of the eBay for Charity donations that you owe.  MissionFish will automatically collect your donation from your donation payment method on the donation due date (the second Monday after your listing ends).

You can also choose to make any donation you owe before the due date with the “one-time donation” option.

The one-time donation payment method:

  • Reduces the donation payment due date to your selected charity by as much as 14 days.

  • Allows you to select your payment method.

  • Allows you to waive your right to request a refund, which lets your donation be paid.

Note: A one-time donation payment does not limit you from making future donations to the same Charity.

Any donation marked as "Overdue" indicates a problem with your selected donation payment method (expired credit card, and so on) and requires immediate attention. You won’t be able to create new eBay for Charity listings until you make all overdue donations.

Donation History

Your Donation History tracks the status of your eBay for Charity donations, and allows you to download your status spreadsheet.

By default, a list of all donations over the past 60 days appears. Use the search and filter tools to see donations from a specific period of time (like "calendar year"), donations of a particular amount, or to see donations by status.

Donations appear with the following statuses:

  • Payment In Process: Donation submitted by the donor but not received by MissionFish (for payments by direct debit, cheque, and EFT).

  • Paid: Donation received by MissionFish.

  • Refund Pending: Donation refund has been requested.

  • Refunded: Full donation was returned to donor (usually the result of an unpaid item).

  • Partially Refunded: Part of the donation was returned or waived by MissionFish.

  • Waived: Full donation was waived by MissionFish (like a refund, for donations that were not paid yet).

  • Delivered: MissionFish delivered the donation to the Charity.

Helpful dates for each status appear when you roll your mouse over the status. A donation is delivered to the charity on the Donation Delivery date.

If you have declared for Gift Aid a Gift Aid amount will appear beside each donation.  MissionFish will claim Gift Aid for eligible donations and forward it to the charity you selected in full

Important: Official donation date
Every eBay for Charity donation has an official donation date. This date is important: it is the date that your donation was legally 'made'.

Gift Aid

The Gift Aid box will be ticked if you have declared for Gift Aid.   Here you can change the name and address on your Gift Aid declaration, or cancel your Gift Aid declaration if you do not want MissionFish to claim Gift Aid on your eBay for Charity donations.

To change your Gift Aid declaration:

  • Click the “Edit” button beside Gift Aid

  • Update your name or address in the fields required.  You must use your legal name and home address (not business address) as a UK taxpayer.

To cancel your Gift Aid declaration, untick the “Gift Aid” box on eBay for Charity Preferences

Preferences

In Donation Account your eBay for Charity Preferences are located at the bottom of My eBay Preferences. Click 'eBay for Charity Preferences' to expand and see all of your preferences.

Tick this box to share your email and mailing address with the charities you support. This is optional. Regardless of your preference, charities you support will always receive your full name.

Donation payment method

When you start selling with eBay for Charity you must put a payment method on file for making donations. By default, your donation payment method is the same as your automatic payment method for paying eBay fees.

If your eBay fees payment method and your donation payment method are the same, we will keep these two payment methods in sync. Updates to your fees payment method will also update your donation payment method.

Note: If your fees payment method and your donation payment method are different, they do not stay in sync when you update your fees payment method. You will have to update your donation payment method yourself as needed.

You can also change your donation payment method to be different from your automatic payment method for eBay fees. You can only have one donation payment method on file at a time: if you add a new method, the old one will be deleted.
