How do I mark my item as paid or dispatched?

You can track the status of items you are buying and selling (if you have a seller's account) and update the status under the Action column in My eBay.

Marking an item as Paid

If you paid for an item and your My eBay is still showing it needs to be paid, you can manually mark the item as paid for your own records. Marking your item as paid does not notify the seller. Regardless of what the status shows in My eBay, as long as your seller acknowledges receiving payment, your part of the transaction is complete.

To mark an item as paid:

  1. From the left column of My eBay, click the "Won" link under All Buying.

  2. In the Items I've Won view, click the small triangle icon located under the Action column for the item you want to mark as paid.

  3. Click the down arrow next to the Pay Now button.

  4. From the list, select Mark as Payment Sent. The £ icon turns blue, showing that payment is complete.

Note: If you pay for your item using PayPal, or the seller marks the item as Payment Received on their My eBay page, the status will display as Payment Sent. However, if you paid using another payment method, and you manually mark the item as Payment Sent, the seller is not automatically notified.

Marking an item as Dispatched

After you post an item to a buyer, you can mark the item as dispatched for your records.

To mark an item you sent as dispatched:

  1. From the left column of My eBay, click the "Sold" link under All Selling.

  2. In the Items I've Sold section, click the small triangle icon located under the Action column for the item you want to mark as dispatched.

  3. From the list, select Mark as Dispatched.

  4. Optional: You can also send an invoice, relist an item, and print a packing label.
