Including tracking and delivery confirmation numbers
Including tracking and delivery confirmation numbers helps buyers check on the status of their package and can reduce the number of buyer questions.
If you print eBay postage labels, tracking numbers are automatically added to My eBay when available.
If you use a postage service that provides a tracking or delivery confirmation number, you can upload the relevant details in My eBay.
How to upload a tracking or delivery confirmation number in My eBay:
Go to the Sold section of My eBay.
Tick the box next to the item or items you want to update.
Click the Add tracking number button.
On the Add/Edit/Delete Tracking Number page, enter the relevant details.
When you start typing in the carrier's name, we'll automatically suggest names in the Carrier box. Make sure you choose the correct carrier as the buyer will then be provided with a direct link to the carrier's website. Otherwise, you can enter the name of your carrier, if none of our suggestions match the carrier you've used.
Once you've uploaded the tracking or delivery confirmation number, it appears below the item title in the Sold section of My eBay and on the View Order Details page.
We'll send your buyer an email with the tracking or delivery confirmation number. Your buyer can also find this information in the Won section of My eBay, on the View Order Details page and on the Feedback page. A link will guide your buyer to the carrier website where you'll be able to find tracking or delivery confirmation information for your package.
Note: Different carriers use different terms to mean 'tracking number'. They mean any number which can be used by you and your buyers to track an item. To find out more about delivery confirmation, visit the Royal Mail website.
