Academic Software

Academic software is software sold at significantly discounted prices to students, faculty members, and educational institutions.

eBay's policy on academic software:
Academic copies of software may not be listed on eBay unless you are an authorised educational reseller, an educational institution, a student, or a faculty member.

Some Examples

You purchased an academic version of Microsoft Word from your school bookstore when you were in school. Now, two years after graduation, you want to sell your copy of Word. You may not list your copy of Word on eBay (unless you are back in school) because it violates eBay's academic software policy.

Additional Information

Listings violating eBay's academic software policy may be ended early by eBay. Multiple violations of eBay's academic software policy could result in the suspension of your account.
