Weapons and Knives The following list contains general guidelines for listing weapons and knives on eBay.
Firearms
eBay prohibits members from listing firearms, including antique, collectable, and sport & hunting firearms as well as ammunition. Please see our separate firearms policy.
Weapons
Certain weapons are not permitted on eBay. Weapons not permitted include (but may not be limited to):
nunchaku, coshes, truncheons, batons or knuckledusters; any leaded canes, staffs, crutches or sticks; zip guns, hand grenades or metal replica hand grenades; throwing stars, shurikens, billys, sandclubs, sandbags, or slungshots (also known as saps or blackjacks); handclaws, footclaws, hollow kubutans or blowpipes; "kusari gama", "kyoketsu shoge", "manrikigusari" or "kusari" (lengths of rope, cord, wire or chain fastened at one end to either a sickle, hooked knife, hard weight or hand grip); swords are prohibited on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie; any other offensive weapon as defined by Section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (UK) or the Firearms and Defensive Weapons Act 1980 (Ireland) as these statutes may be amended from time to time.
Knives
eBay prohibits members from listing knives on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie with one exception:
Cutlery: this includes sets of kitchen cutlery (knives, forks, spoons) that contain knives used for eating, but does not include sharp kitchen knives such as those found in knife blocks, such as paring knives.
Members should be aware when listing knives on eBay that it is an offence to market a knife in a way which indicates or suggests that it is suitable for combat, or is likely to encourage violent behaviour involving the use of the knife as a weapon. It is also an offence to sell knives to a person who is under the age of 18.
