Customising your search results

Customising your preferences

When you search for an item, your Preferences section appears on the left sidebar.

You can set your preferences so you find only the listings which interest you. You can search by:

  • Buying format (for example, auction, Buy it now, and Click & Collect)

  • Location (for example, UK, Europe or worldwide)

  • Show only (for example, completed listings and free postage)

  • Distance (from your postcode)

Note: To narrow your search according to the item you're looking for (for example, women's jeans, size, and style), you can refine your search.

To select your search preferences:
  1. Search for an item.

  2. In the View drop-down menu located at the top right of the search results page, select Customise.

  3. Modify your settings.

  4. Click the Apply changes button to save your settings.

When you Customise your results, we save your settings. You can change them any time.

To restore eBay's default display settings:

  1. In the View drop-down menu, select Customise.

  2. Click the 'Restore defaults' link.

Changing your default sort order

We automatically sort your items using Best Match, which evaulates listings and sellers to display the most relevant items for you.

You can easily change your search results sort order:

  1. Sign into eBay.

  2. Search for an item.

  3. In the View drop-down menu located at the top right of the search results page, select Customise.

  4. Make your selection from the Sort order drop-down menu.

  5. Click the Apply changes button.
