Buyers
I would like to send a combined payment for all my purchases. What items can be combined into a single payment?
You may send a combined payment for multiple items you have won or purchased provided that:
All items are from the same seller
All items were purchased from the same eBay site and are in the same currency
The items were won or purchased within the date range specified by the seller (typically within 7 days)
You have not already paid with PayPal or completed checkout for the item

I have purchased multiple items from the same seller and would like to send a combined payment for everything. How do I do this?
You may initiate the process of sending a combined payment for your items through My eBay, the item page, or eBay's End of Auction email. If you select the "Pay Now" button on any item, we will display other items you have won or purchased from the same seller. If there are and they can be combined, you can send a combined payment to the seller for everything.

If I've purchased multiple items from the same seller, do I need to pay for all the items at once?
You may either choose to send a combined payment for all the items you've purchased from the seller, or you may choose to pay for the items individually. We recommend that you combine payment on your purchases, as this will be the most convenient and time-saving option for you and the seller. If, however, you choose to pay for your items separately, you may do so by unchecking any item that you do not wish to combine from the "Review Purchase" page that will be displayed after initiating payment through the "Pay Now" button.

Can I send an invoice to my buyers for all items they have won or purchased from me?
Yes, you may send an invoice for 1 or more items that the buyer has purchased from you within a 30- day period. To send a combined invoice to a particular buyer, click the "Send Invoice" button from the My eBay Items I've Won page. From the Invoice page, you will see all the items the buyer has purchased from you, and you may choose which items you would like to send a combined invoice for.

Do I need to have checkout turned on to receive a combined payment or send a combined invoice to my buyers?
You can send a combined invoice on any item regardless of your "Pay Now" (formerly Checkout) preferences. If your current preference is to "Show Pay Now button for PayPal only" (formerly Checkout Off), sending an invoice will enable the "Pay Now" button for those items. You will then be able to receive combined payment for your items. If you want to enable the Pay Now button for all of your listings, you may turn it on by going to the Preferences section in My eBay. Select the "Update selling payment preferences" link, and then select the "Show Pay Now button for all payment methods" option.

How do I add more items to an existing Combined Invoice?
In order to add more items purchased by the same buyer to an existing invoice, you will need to first uncombine the existing invoice. Go to the payment status page and click on the "Edit" link. On the next page, select "Uncombine purchases". Now you can send a new combined invoice for all the items purchased by the buyer.
If you are a Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro subscriber, first go to the Sales Record page for the existing invoice and click on the "Uncombine Invoice" link. On the next page, select "Uncombine purchases". Now you can send a new combined invoice by clicking on the "Combine purchases" link on the Sales Record page for any item purchased by the buyer.

What are postage discounts and why would I be interested?
You may specify postage discounts that would apply to all your listings. When buyers send a combined payment for multiple items they have purchased from you, eBay will automatically calculate the postage discount savings. By setting up postage discounts, you'll have a better chance of selling your other items more quickly! Prominent messages will appear encouraging your buyers to save on shipping by buying more from you, a seller they already know and trust.

How can I specify that I offer postage discounts to my buyers? Can I limit the number of days that I will allow purchases to be combined?
From the My eBay Preferences tab, choose the "Specify postage discounts for combined purchases" link. On the next page, select the "Yes, allow buyers to combine items purchased within xxx days, and send a single payment. I will specify discounts below" option.
You may specify the number of days you will allow buyers to combine purchases from you. The default is 7 days, but you may specify that you allow purchases from the same buyer to be combined within 3, 5, 7, 14, or 30 days.
You will then need to select the postage discounts you offer based on whether you usually charge flat rate or actual rate shipping.

What are the different postage discounts options if I specify flat rate shipping?
There are 4 different postage discount options for flat rate shipping.
Charge my highest shipping cost for the first item and $xx for each additional item
Charge my highest shipping cost for the first item and ship each additional item for free.
Charge my highest shipping cost for the first item, and deduct $xx from the shipping cost of each additional item.
Charge a shipping cost of $xx for multiple purchases totaling over $xx. Items will be shipped using <shipping service>
If you offer flat rate shipping, you may also enter the insurance amount to be added to the combined payment. Just go to the Postage Discount Preferences page.

What are the different postage discount options if I specify actual rate shipping
If you specify actual rate shipping (through shipping calculator), you may offer a postage discount to your buyers on multiple purchases. You may choose to calculate actual rate shipping by combined item weight or individual item weight. In addition, you may also choose to discount the packaging and handling fee for the shipment at your discretion.

What if I want to offer postage discounts but don't want to apply a discount to all my items?
If there are certain items you do not want to have a postage discount applied to, you may indicate this by deselecting the "Apply a postage discount when buyer purchases multiple items from me" checkbox option on the Sell Your Item form. If you deselect this checkbox on any given item, the buyer may still send a combined payment, but a discount will not be applied.

Will my buyer automatically receive the postage discount I specified when setting up my postage discount preferences?
eBay will automatically calculate the total shipping costs and any postage discounts if the buyer sends a combined payment, as long as:
You have specified shipping costs on all your items on the Sell Your Item form
You charge either flat rate or actual rate shipping on all your items
If you charge actual rate shipping, you specify the same shipping method on all your items

Will my buyer be able to automatically send a combined payment for multiple purchases? What if I do not want them to do this?
Yes, your buyer will automatically be able to send you a combined payment for multiple items they have purchased from you. This offers a quick and convenient way for buyers to send payment, and for you to receive payment on multiple purchases. In addition, a combined payment may reduce your PayPal fees if the buyer sends you payment through PayPal.
However, if you do not want buyers to automatically send you a combined payment, you may turn off this feature. To do so, go to the Postage Discount preferences page, accessible from My eBay, and choose the "No, don't allow buyers to combine purchases" option.Even if you do not allow your buyer to automatically combine payment, you still have the option of sending a combined invoice to your buyer specifying the total amount of payment, including shipping/handling and other charges.

Are my other items cross-promoted to my buyer during Checkout? If so, will the buyer be able to send a combined payment if they decide to buy another item?
By default, other items you're selling with the Buy It Now option are
cross-promoted
to buyers as they go through Checkout. The items appear in a special display on the Review Your Purchase page. If the buyer sees an item of interest and uses Buy It Now, the item will be automatically combined the item will be automatically combined with other items the buyer is purchasing from you into a single payment.. Cross-promoting your items during Checkout helps you sell more items while still directing buyers to complete their payment.
You can choose whether cross-promotions appear during Checkout for your buyers by setting this preference in My eBay:
Click on the
My eBay
button at the top of any eBay page.
In the eBay Preferences view, click on the "change" link next to "Participate in eBay cross-promotions".
Turn the option "Cross-promote in Checkout" on or off.
Cross-promotions will appear to buyers during Checkout only if you allow combined payments.
