Cross-promoting your items

Cross-promoting – showing your other items to buyers – is a powerful tool to give buyers more options with their shopping experience. Showing other items can help you sell more items per buyer, and sell to more buyers. Your items will appear with thousands of other listings and in emails to drive traffic to your items and your shop. You can act as the salesperson, showing the right items at the right time.

To help buyers find what they're looking for, we may show relevant items from other sellers on your listing.

Your qualifying items will automatically appear on other relevant listings. This gives your listings more exposure in a prominent place. To improve your odds of surfacing your listings in these placements, make sure your items are clearly titled and specify as many details as possible (such as size, colour and format) when listing your item.

How buyers see your cross-promotions

Buyers can see your other listings in several ways:

  • Related, qualifying listings may appear on other sellers' open and closed listings. Similarly, other sellers' listings may also be displayed on your listings. They may also appear on search pages, in My eBay, after checkout along with many other pages

  • Emails: Your listings may be included in emails sent to buyers when the item they bought or bid on is no longer available, or in emails for watched items.

  • Apps: The iPhone, iPad and Android apps all incorporate promotions in various places.
