Receiving a Final Value Fee Credit

To receive a Final Value Fee credit to your seller account, you need to open and close a case for an unpaid item or cancelled transaction at our Resolution Centre. (For instructions on how to do this, see What to do if a buyer doesn't pay or Cancelling a transaction.)

After you close a case, you may receive a Final Value Fee credit under the following conditions:

  • The buyer doesn't respond within seven days of when you opened a case with them in our Resolution Centre to resolve payment or cancel the transaction.

  • The buyer agrees to your request to cancel the transaction.

  • The buyer isn't going to pay and you need to close the case.

  • The buyer returns the item and you issue a refund.

If you qualify for a Final Value Fee credit, it will be assigned to your seller account 7-10 days after you close the case and can be applied to another listing. Learn how to get refunded for the credit.

Note: If you relist the item, you may qualify for an Insertion Fee credit, but will pay the usual Final Value Fee when the item sells.
