Changing Your Listing (Title, Description, Price, Shipping)

Follow these instructions to edit the listing title, product description, postage charges and destinations, optional enhancement features, pictures, categories, reserve price or almost any aspect of your listing:

Click the My eBay button at the top of any page and sign in.
Click the "Selling" link under "All Selling" on the left-hand side of the page.
The next page shows your active listings in a table called "Items I'm Selling". Find the "Action" heading along the top row of the table. Click the drop down arrow under "Action" in the row for the listing you want to change. Click the "Revise" link.
On the next page, click the "Edit..." or "Add..." link next to the part of the listing you want to change.
Make your changes then click the Save Changes button.

Note: If you don't see an "Edit..." or "Add..." link next to the part of the listing you want to revise, it's too late to change that part of the listing, either because it's too close to the end of the listing, or because you've received bids. We can't make changes for you. Refer to the chart below to find out what can and can’t be edited as the end of the listing approaches.

You can’t change the listing format once you’ve listed an item. For example, you can’t add "Buy It Now" to an active auction.

How to end a listing early

If you’ve accidentally listed more items than you have available, or if you sell, break or lose an item after you list it, you may be able to end your listing early.

We don't recommend completing transactions outside of eBay. If someone offers to purchase the item from you if you end the listing early, see Offers to Buy or Sell Outside eBay for advice.

Revision limitation chart

The tables below specify the changes you can make depending on the type of listing, the time left before it ends, and if you have received any bids or sales.

Click on your listing type to see what you can revise:

Tip: If you want to revise your listing but there are less than 12 hours left, or there are bids for the item, you may need to end your listing early and relist it with your changes. If there are 12 hours or less remaining, and the item has a winning bid, you can't end the listing early except to sell the item to the high bidder.

Important: If you've listed or re-listed an item in the past few hours, or changed its title, your listing may not be immediately searchable when using a keyword or category search, until several hours after you've changed it. For more information see How can I find my listing?

Auction-style listing

Remove the following optional features only: Buy It Now, eBay Picture Upgrades, Reserve Price, 10-day listing Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold). Add or change a Gallery picture. Add or change pictures using eBay Picture Hosting. Lower the start price of your item. (You won’t receive a credit for any difference in the insertion fee.)
More than 12 hours	Yes	Add a second category. Add to the item description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Hosting. Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold). Lower the reserve price of your item. (You won’t receive a credit for any difference in your reserve fee.)
Less than 12 hours	No	Change the category and add Item Specifics, or you can add a second category. Add to the item description. Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold). Add page view counters. Add or change a Gallery picture. Add pictures using eBay Picture Hosting. Add new payment methods and post-to locations.
Less than 12 hours	Yes	Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold). You cannot add to your listing description in this circumstance.

Fixed Price listing

Anytime while listing is active	Yes	Revise price, quantity and Shop category. Add or remove optional features. Add to the item description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Hosting. Lower the price of your item. (You won’t receive a credit for any difference in the insertion fee.)

Classified Ad listing

You only can change categories for Classified Ad listings if the insertion fees are the same. You cannot bid on a Classified Ad listing.

You can change some Item Specifics but not the category.
