eBay for Charity is the dedicated programme for charity listings on eBay.
Once your charity is certified for inclusion in the charity directory, you can fundraise with eBay for Charity in two ways:
Community selling – Anyone can sell an item on eBay and donate 10% to 100% of its final sale price to your charity (there is a £1 minimum donation required if the item sells). The resulting donation will be collected and distributed to you. (Learn more about Community Selling.) MissionFish will notify you of the listing according to your account preferences (if you prefer your charity not to be associated with the listing, you may use your My MissionFish account to request that the listing be cancelled).
Direct selling – As a direct seller, your charity can list an item for sale on eBay. Make sure you add your eBay User ID to your charity My MissionFish account as a direct seller (MissionFish does not process the donation in this type of transaction, and therefore there is no deduction as described above). Learn more about direct selling.
eBay for Charity listings are marked with a charity icon
. In addition, donation information is displayed in the item description, instilling buyer confidence and trust. Plus, charity listings receive additional visibility through specialised search functionality. eBay for Charity listings on average tend to sell more often with more bids and at higher final prices.
As an added benefit, when an eBay for Charity listed item sells (where at least 90% of the final sale price goes to a certified charity), eBay will include the seller's Insertion and Final Value Fees in addition to the sale price. Your direct selling listings also qualify. Learn more about the eBay for Charity Fee Credit Policy
Note:
MissionFish is the UK registered charity (No. 1110538) that eBay has selected to help administer eBay for Charity. MissionFish's service and support includes: providing the charity directory for eBay for Charity, verifying that charities are eligible for this programme, tracking donations online, and collecting and distributing sellers' donations and GiftAid.
