Some categories - Books, Digital Cameras, and Mobile Phones are just a few examples - contain items associated with products in our growing catalogue. If you’re listing in one of these categories, you'll be able to add product details and a stock photo from our catalogue to your listing description.
Besides saving you time and making it easier for you to list an item, this is a simple way to create a more appealing listing and help buyers find your items.
For example, let’s say you’re listing an SLR digital camera. It’s associated with our catalogue, and you use prefilled item information in your item description. When buyers search for SLR digital cameras, they may see the matching products at the top of the search results page. When they click the title, they’ll go straight to the product details page where your listing appears.
To
find prefilled information:Click the 'Find your product' link under the 'Prefilled item information' section of the Sell Your Item form.
Enter relevant product identifiers, like those shown in this table.

If you enter an identifier in the Search box and don’t find the item you're selling:
Verify that the information you entered is correct.
Add the item to our catalogue. To add an item to our catalogue, click Add it to our catalogue, then complete and submit the form. The information you include will also be added to your listing description.
Product condition
Catalogue product details don't cover product condition, so this information isn’t automatically prefilled. Because it’s one of the top purchasing criteria for eBay buyers, be sure to provide product condition when you list your item.
More about prefilled information:
It’s free, and supported by eBay seller tools and third-party providers. You can use prefilled info in Turbo Lister and Selling Manager, but if you use a third-party provider you might want to double-check to make sure your provider uses this functionality.
It’s flexible. You can integrate prefilled information with existing listing templates, using it to complement existing product description templates.
It allows you to use stock photos. Sellers can use a stock photo for gallery pictures.
Important: Prefilled information and stock photos may be changed or removed from time to time. We’ll always try to give you a heads up when significant changes occur. But because catalogue content is provided by third parties, eBay can’t be responsible for it. Always confirm the accuracy of the information before you list your item.
To report an error in prefilled information:
Occasionally, you may find that some information is missing or wrong (for example, the release year is incorrect). If information about the product you’re selling is missing or wrong, don't use the prefilled item information when you’re creating your listing. Instead, to report the error:
Click the 'Report an error' link under the 'Prefilled Item' information section of the Sell Your Item form.
Enter the correct information, then click Submit.
To request that a product be added to our catalogues:
If you can’t find your product in the list that appears on the 'Find your product' page, you can ask us to add it to our catalogues. To do this:
Click the 'Submit a catalogue addition request' link at the bottom of the Sell Your Item form. You may need to scroll down to see the link.
Enter details about the product you want us to add, then click Submit
information.
