How do I bring buyers to my eBay Shop?

Use these methods to drive buyer traffic to your Shop and generate sales of your Shop items:

Promote your Shop on eBay

  • Make the most of your Auction-style and Buy It Now listings
List some of your items in these selling formats, which appear in regular eBay searches and categories. In your item descriptions, include links to pages in your Shop - the homepage, custom categories, Buy It Now items, etc. You can also incorporate your Shop's branding, such as your colours and logo, into your listings.

  • Control your cross-promotions
Control which of your other items are promoted when buyers view, bid on, or win your items. Set up your cross-promotions so that your Shop items gain maximum exposure.

  • Use your About Me page
Create an About Me page and devote it to your Shop - describe your business, include links to your Shop, incorporate your Shop's visuals, etc. Once created, the "me" icon always appears next to your user ID for buyers to click on.

  • Upgrade your subscription level
Upgrade your subscription level for more exposure on eBay Shops search pages as well as other parts of eBay.

    • Enhance your Shop and listing visibility with AdCommerce

Draw buyers to your Store or listings through sponsored listings and see performance reports with AdCommerce. You pay only when a buyer clicks your ad. Your ad is displayed for free.

Promote your Shop outside eBay

  • Promote your Shop in emails and printed materials
Always include your Shop's name, URL, and branding in your correspondence with buyers, as well as invoices, packing slips, business cards, stationery, and advertisements.

  • Make your own promotional flyer with the Shops tools.

  • Optimise your Shop for internet search engines
Make the text in your Shop match the keywords that users would enter when they search for the types of items you're selling. Include these keywords in your Shop name, custom category names, and/or the content on your custom pages.

  • Include your listings in product search engines
Arrange to have your Buy It Now items appear on shopping comparison websites. Set up partnerships with these sites and export a feed of all of your Shop listings so that your partners always have up-to-date information about your items

Other tips

  • Register your domain name.
Give your Shop a URL that's easy for buyers to remember by registering a domain name (for example, www.fancyclocks.com). Buyers who go to your domain name will be automatically forwarded to your Shop's homepage.
