What does it cost to sell on eBay?

Fees are applicable when listing your item on eBay. The cost depends on a number of factors including: the starting price, selling price, selling format, optional listing upgrades, category and site. The eBay fee pages have tables to help you figure out how much it'll cost you to sell your item.

Here's an explanation of each type of eBay fee:

Insertion fee - If you want to sell an item on eBay, create a listing using the Sell Your Item form. When you list an item, you're charged an Insertion Fee for the listing. The Insertion Fee is based on what you decide is the Starting Price of your item.

Final value fee - When your item sells, you'll be charged a final value fee that's based on a percentage of the total cost to the buyer, including postage, packaging and any other related costs.

Listing upgrades - You might also want to add a subtitle or an extra picture to your listing. Charges are added for each listing upgrade individually, and depend on the category and format in which you list.

Supplemental service fees

If you use supplemental services such as managed returns or other services offered by eBay or third parties, charges associated with those services may also be treated as fees. Depending on the service, these charges may be included on seller invoices as a fee, which may be charged to your automatic payment method on file.

When you sell an item, you can review your fees on the Sell your Item form before you submit your listing.
