Seller performance report

Your seller performance report gives you in-depth information on detailed seller ratings and buyer protection cases and how they affect your seller status. By reviewing the report, you'll gain an insight into issues that impact your performance and access information on how you can improve.

How to run the report

To view your seller performance report:
  1. Go to your Seller Dashboard and click Performance. On the Seller performance page, click Seller performance report.

  2. If more than one report is available, select the region that you want to see the report for.

  3. Click the Low detailed seller ratings or Buyer Protection cases tab to view the reports.

You'll see a table that shows eBay's requirements as well as your performance.

The benefits of the report

When you select Low detailed seller ratings or Buyer Protection cases, you'll see 5 charts that give you more information about your ratings and your Resolution Centre cases.

These charts will give you insight into what areas may be holding you back, as well as some suggestions for improvement. For example, if you receive low ratings for dispatch time, you can look at the chart for dispatch time ratings by region. You may discover that delivery time is longer to some regions in the UK. As such, you might want to use a different postal method or let buyers in these counties know that it will take a little longer to receive their item.

Interpreting the charts on detailed seller ratings

  • Low ratings trends chart shows the percentage of low ratings (1s and 2s stars) over total ratings for the past 12 months. If low ratings are increasing, take action. If low ratings are decreasing, you're doing the right thing.

  • Areas for improvement chart shows groups of similar comments by buyers when they leave Feedback. If you see a high number of the same comments, you'll be able to address this area.

  • Low ratings vs. sales prices chart shows which price range receives the highest percentage of low ratings.

  • Low P&P ratings by region chart shows if low ratings are unique to a particular region in the UK.  If so, you may want to use a different postal method, or communicate that there may be delays to these buyers.

  • Low ratings by category chart shows the distribution of low ratings by item categories. If you're receiving low ratings in a certain category, you may want to investigate your processes in these categories to find the problem.

Interpreting the charts on Buyer Protection cases

  • Buyer Protection case trends chart tracks Buyer Protection cases over the past 12 months. You'll be able to see whether more cases are affecting your seller performance, or not.

  • Buyer Protection cases by type chart shows the number of cases from buyers who reported that the items weren't received, or didn't match their listing descriptions.

  • Buyer Protection case type vs. sales price chart shows the value of cases being opened, ie. for more expensive or less expensive items.

  • Item not received cases by region chart shows if cases are unique to a particular region in the UK.  If buyers in a certain region aren't receiving items, you may want to use a different postal method or communicate that there may be delays.

  • Item not as described cases by category chart shows the distribution of cases by category for items reported as not matching their listing description.
