eBay Top-rated seller status and the eBay Premium Service

eBay Top-rated seller account status

If you're a PowerSeller, you can qualify for eBay Top-rated seller status at an account level. This means you've met our eBay Top-rated seller performance standards. Qualifying for eBay Top-rated seller account status means your listings enjoy improved visibility in Best Match search results.

Once you're an eBay Top-rated seller at an account level, you can choose to provide eBay Premium Service at a listing level to receive maximum visibility in Best Search results and a 15% discount on your final value fees. Find out more about the eBay Premium Service listing requirements.

To become an eBay Top-rated seller at an account level, you need to meet these requirements:

  • Have an eBay account that's been active for at least 90 days.

  • Have a positive Feedback rating of at least 98%.

  • Be a member of the PowerSeller programme.

  • Have at least 100 transactions and £1,000 (or €1,500) in sales during the last 12 months with UK and Irish buyers. 

  • Have no more than 2% of transactions with 1 or more defects over your most recent evaluation period.

  • Have received a maximum of 2 detailed seller ratings of 1 or 2-stars in the last 12 months, accounting for no more than 0.5% of your total Feedback.

  • Have no more than 2 eBay Money-back Guarantee cases closed without seller resolution, accounting for no more than 0.3% of your total transactions.

  • Meet the following requirements for detailed seller ratings (DSRs) and cases/PayPal Buyer Protection cases:

** If you sell outside of the UK, DE or US, you'll need to register for the global Powerseller programme. 

Listing with the eBay Premium Service as an eBay Top-rated seller

Once you're an eBay Top-rated seller at an account level, you can choose to provide eBay Premium Service at an individual listing level. This means you offer high standard fulfilment and delivery options. You can choose to offer eBay Premium Service for some or all of your listings. These listings enjoy maximum visibility in Best Match search results as well as a 15% final value fee discount.

The listings where you've chosen to offer eBay Premium Service will also display the eBay Premium Service badge to let buyers know that you offer high levels of customer service.

In order to qualify for the eBay Premium Service, you must offer the following on each listing:

  • A minimum returns period of 14 calendar days. Make sure you correctly specify your returns policy.

  • 1-day or same-day dispatch.

  • An express delivery option – offering delivery within 1 day.

  • A free delivery option.

You can choose to offer eBay Premium Service on some or all of your listings. You’ll only receive the associated benefits and final value fee discounts on listings which do meet the requirements. Only sellers registered in the UK or Ireland with UK eBay Top-rated seller status will receive final value fee discounts for items sold on eBay.co.uk or eBay.ie. UK sellers don't receive discounts for items sold on other sites (except eBay.ie), even if they have eBay Top-rated seller status in those countries.

eBay Premium Service final value fee discounts for eBay Top-rated sellers

If you're registered in the UK or Ireland and qualify for UK eBay Top-rated seller status at account level, you'll be eligible for 15% discount on your final value fees on individual listings that also meet the eBay Premium Service requirements. This applies to all items sold on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie. There are no discounts for items sold on other eBay sites, even if you're an eBay Top-rated seller and offer eBay Premium Service for your listings in those countries.

Check your Seller Dashboard to see if you qualify for eBay Top-rated seller status at account level. Any of your listings that meet the new listing-level requirements will then become eligible for discounts if you also choose to offer eBay Premium Service at an individual listing level.

We evaluate our sellers on the 20th of each month, and apply the final value fee discounts on the next invoice.

For example, assuming you're an eBay Top-rated seller and you've offered eBay Premium Service on some or all of your listings as of 20 June. For your eBay Premium Service listings:

  • If you're invoiced on the last day of the month, you'll receive a discount on your final value fees for sales that took place between 1 and 30 June.

  • If you're invoiced on the 15th of the month, you'll receive a discount on your final value fees for sales from 16 June to 15 July.

Qualifying for eBay Top-rated seller status on other eBay sites

If you sell on other eBay sites, you can become an eBay Top-rated seller based on your transactions with buyers in those countries. If you qualify for the US, German, or global programme(s), you'll receive promotion in search and the eBay Top-rated seller badge on those sites.
