Why does eBay have additional requirements in order to sell?

The requirements to sell at eBay have changed to ensure that we provide a safer environment for the eBay community. eBay now requires all new sellers to provide a credit/debit card and bank account information to help ensure that they are of a legal age and to increase confidence between buyers and sellers on eBay.co.uk.

Trust and safety have always been extremely important to us and we already have a number of safety features in place to protect members including eBay's Feedback Forum. Many of our users have told us how much they enjoy and use the Feedback Forum for safe trading. Several members have also made suggestions for further improvements to the seller requirements needed to trade on the site. This new requirement has been implemented because of this demand from our users.

By introducing Seller Verification for all new sellers, we are further enhancing the safe trading environment on eBay.co.uk.

To sell at eBay, please create a Seller's Account. Simply provide a valid credit/debit card and bank account information. Once your details are verified, you will also be automatically signing up to accept credit cards for transaction payments through eBay Payments by Billpoint!
