Changing Shop Inventory Listings into Other Formats

A great way to bring more traffic to your eBay listings is to list your items in a variety of formats, including Auction-style, Fixed Price, and Shop Inventory. Existing Shop Inventory listings can be changed to either Fixed Price or Auction-style listings.

Benefits of Changing Store Inventory Listings:

  • Auction-style and Fixed Price listings appear in regular eBay searches and categories. Such listings are a powerful way to bring buyers to your eBay Shop, especially when you display your Shop's brand, insert Shop links in the item description, and promote your Shop Inventory items.

  • The "Send to Auction-style" and "Send to Fixed Price" links in My eBay let you create listings in these formats directly from Shop Inventory listings.

Note: When you change the listing format, standard fees for Auction-style or Fixed Price format will apply. Generally, Auction-style and Fixed Price fees are higher than or are assessed differently than Shop Inventory fees.

To transfer items from an existing Shop Inventory listing to a new listing in Auction-style or Fixed Price format:
  1. Click the My eBay button at the top of any eBay page.

  2. Login to eBay with your User ID and password.

  3. Under My eBay Views, click the "All Selling" link, then click the "Selling" link and use the "Items I'm Selling" page. (If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, click the "Active" link and use the Active Listings page and follow the same steps.)

  4. Use the Action dropdown menu and select "Send to Auction-style" or "Send to Fixed Price" for the Shop Inventory item that you want to send. (If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, go to the Active Listings view and follow the same steps.)

  5. On the Send to Auction-style or Send to Fixed Price form, fill in the options that you want for the new Online listing, and click Continue button.

    • By default, the new listing has the same content as the Shop Inventory listing, including title, Buy It Now price, and any enhancements that you selected, such as subtitle or Gallery picture. It also has default values for other fields such as starting price and listing duration. You can edit these fields to your liking. Anything that is not shown on the form, such as the item description, will stay the same.

    • If your Shop Inventory listing has multiple items, you can use the Quantity dropdown to specify how many items to send to the Auction-style or Fixed Price listing. The remaining items will remain in the Shop Inventory listing. If you send all items, the Shop Inventory listing will automatically end when the new listing begins.

  6. On the Promote and Review Your Listing page, review your listing options and applicable fees, and then click the List Your Item button. The new listing will begin and run as a regular Auction-style or Fixed Price listing.

To change items from multiple Shop Inventory listings to multiple Auction-style or Fixed Price listings simultaneously:
  1. Click the My eBay button at the top of any eBay page.

  2. Login to eBay with your User ID and password.

  3. Under My eBay Views, click the “All Selling” link then click the “Selling” link. (If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, go to the Active Listings view and follow the same steps.)

  4. In the Items I'm Selling view, select "Shop Inventory" from the Format dropdown menu and click Go. Only your Shop Inventory listings will appear on the list. (If you use Selling Manager Pro, go to the Active Listings view, and then click the "Show: Store Items" link.)

  5. Click the selection box next to each listing that you want to send.

  6. Click the Send to Auction-style or Send to Fixed Price button at the top of the view. Fill out the form with your changes, and click the Continue button.

Note: If you are editing the condition for bulk listings, make sure you select the same condition for each item before sending. For example, you will not be able to edit if some items are “new” and “refurbished” while others are simply “new.” You are more likely to have the same condition options if the bulk items are in the same or similar categories.

Relisting Unsold Items

When the listing ends, your unsold items will not automatically go back to the initial Shop Inventory listing, but you can relist them. To do so, go to the Unsold Items view of My eBay and click the "Relist" link in the Action section.
