Searching – new features and a new look

• It'll help prevent spelling mistakes by auto-completing likely search terms for you. Can't remember how many Bs in Dolce & Gabbana? No problem – start typing it and Search Suggestions will show you.
• It'll save you time on searches with long keywords. You'll no longer have to type them all out – just click on one of the searches Search Suggestions shows you.
• It'll give you inspiration and hints on what to buy. For example, if you're looking for the latest digital camera by, say, Canon, but don't know or have forgotten what the model number is, Search Suggestions will be there to help.

When you start typing or modifying a search and you pause, we'll automatically suggest up to seven search possibilities. We base these on the most common search phrases used by other eBay users.

If you don't like the search possibilities that Search Suggestions comes up with, you can hide them by clicking on the Hide suggestions link at the bottom of the suggestions list. Then just carry on with your search.

If you hid Search Suggestions and want to re-enable it, click on the image that appears when you pause while typing a search query.

No. If you'd rather go with your internet browser's auto-complete suggestions, you'll need to turn off eBay's Search Suggestions first. You can do this by clicking on the Hide suggestions link at the bottom of the suggestions list. To see your browser's auto-complete suggestions, you'll need to have enabled them first.

To select a search preference, click on the link or on the button to the left of it:

When you make a choice in the Preferences panel, you'll see it at the top of the search results, in this example, the choice was Auction.
