Rambling is the great British past time. There is no denying it as every year, hillsides become covered in the fluorescent glow of waterproofs and hiking sticks as walkers from all across the country descend on some of Britain's most vista based hotspots. June is quickly becoming July and with the Summer Solstice firmly in the past, we need to be aware that rambling and camping can bring with it dangers that are hidden in the dark.

That is why for my first chosen piece of '_must have_' summer tech this year, I have chosen an item that is not just an essential in any ramblers back pack, but also in any festival goers backpack.

Introducing the head torch

The humble head torch has saved me on many an occasion from falling headfirst into someone else's tent and allowing me to successfully find my way to the toilets after a long night & day of watching music. Robust, waterproof, rechargeable and long last lasting, the head torch or more specifically, the CREE XM-L T6 LE will keep you out of trouble and always in the light whatever the weather and whatever the situation. AS a side note, if you haven't tried caving yet, then you really should give it a go. Exhilarating and the head torch will come in handy.

Hot Meat Sweats

For those more interested in staying at home and soaking up the rays in the garden, then why not invest in a new BBQ. Mates, enemies and families all find solace when waiting for the pig skin to brown so why not brown your burgers on a BBQ that will make everyone jealous including Kim & Kanye.

Or if you want to take it the next level and not just make Kimye jealous but instead make them want to be your best friends, then where BBQ's are concerned, you can't do better than a BBQ that you could fit a whole pig in.

For this years summer festivities, I can guarantee that where tech is concerned, it is best to go back to basic. You can have your chargers and solar panels but what you really need is a head torch and a good BBQ.
