For the duration of Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th August 2006 (local UK time), sellers listing items using Auction-style or Auction-with-Buy It Now formats in an eligible category will pay a reduced 10 pence (£0.10) Insertion Fee per item listed. In addition, Sellers using the Auction-style format when listing will not be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee if they upgrade their listing to a Auction-with-Buy It Now format listing during the promotion. Please refer to "What's Excluded?" for more details.


Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10 August from 00:00:01 BST until 23:59:59 BST.


  • Only items listed in British Pounds Sterling on eBay.co.uk using Auction-style and Auction-with-Buy It Now formats will qualify for the promotion.
  • Sellers using the Auction-style format will not be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee if they upgrade their listing to an Auction-with-Buy It Now format listing during the promotion.
  • Items listed in the 'Parts & Accessories' sub category of the Cars, Parts & Vehicles category are included.
  • Sellers can list items with any starting price to be included in the promotion.
  • Any item previously scheduled to go live on Wednesday 9th or Thursday 10th August will qualify for the promotion.
  • If you re-list an item on Wednesday 9th or Thursday 10th August that had previously closed without a successful sale, the re-list will qualify for the promotion. If the re-listed item sells and is eligible under the eBay re-list policy, eBay will refund the Insertion Fee at the promotional price of 10 pence.

  • Buy It Now Only Fixed Price format listings.
  • Items listed in the 'Cars' and 'More Vehicles' sub categories of the Cars, Parts & Vehicles category, apart from the 'Parts & Accessories' sub category (as detailed in the What's Included? section).
  • The Property category.
  • Multiple-Item listings in all formats. This includes both Auction-style (also known as Dutch Auctions) and fixed price formats. Find out more about Multiple-Item listings.
  • Identical listings that do not comply with our Duplicate Listings policy. Find out more about our Duplicate Listings policy.
  • Shops Inventory Format listings. Find out more about listing items in Shops Inventory Format.
  • Any item listed on 9th or 10th August 2006 but scheduled to start after the promotion has finished will NOT qualify for the promotion.
  • Only the basic eBay Insertion Fee will be reduced to 10 pence. Sellers will not be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee when upgrading their listing from a Auction-style format listing to a Auction-with-Buy It Now format listing during the promotion. All other eBay selling fees will still apply, including but not limited to Final Value Fees, optional Reserve Price Fees and all other Listing Upgrade Fees such as "Gallery", "Subtitle", "Bold" or "Highlight".   • If the item is listed in 2 categories, the Insertion Fee will be 10 pence times 2 i.e. 20 pence.
  • The last section of the "sell your item" (SYI) form will show that eligible Sellers have been charged the reduced 10 pence Insertion Fee and, if the Seller upgraded their Auction-style format listing to a Auction-with-Buy It Now format listing during the promotion, that the eligible Seller will not be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee for their upgrade.
