A great way to start selling on eBay is by listing CDs and DVDs, they're easy to post and by simply typing in the barcode or title eBay will fill in the description and provide a photo.

On the 10th and 11th February 2007 you can list your CDs and DVDs for just 5p each. And when you list them, we'll give you a Free Gallery image too so buyers can really see what you're selling.

During all of Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th of February 2007 (local UK time), sellers who list an item using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now or Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats in the eligible categories (see below), will pay a reduced 5 pence (£0.05) Insertion Fee per item they list, and will be able to use the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature for free.

Please note: If a seller lists an item in two categories, one of which is an eligible category, the item listed in the eligible category will qualify for the promotion, but the item listed in a category that is not an eligible category will not qualify for the promotion and the seller will be charged the normal eBay.co.uk fees to list this item.

Saturday 10th February 2007 from 00:00:01 GMT until Sunday 11th February 23:59:59 GMT (promotional period).



All items listed for sale on eBay.co.uk in Pounds Sterling (GBP) on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th February 2007 using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now Only and Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats in the eligible categories below (apart from those items or listings detailed in the "What's Excluded?" section below) will be eligible for the promotion, and sellers will be able to use the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature for free when listing these items.

The eligible categories for this promotion are:

  • DVD, Film & TV > DVDs
  • Music > CDs

  • Any eligible item previously scheduled to go live on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th February 2007 will qualify for the promotion.
  • If you re-list an eligible item on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th February 2007 that had previously closed without a successful sale, the re-listed item will qualify for the promotion. If the re-listed item sells and is eligible under the eBay re-list policy, eBay will refund the Insertion Fee at the promotional price of 5 pence.
  • Items eligible for the promotion that also meet the eBay Express listing qualification rules will automatically appear on ebayexpress.co.uk as well as on ebay.co.uk.
Please note: To sell using the Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) format you must either have 10 or more feedback or, if you have a PayPal account, you must have 5 or more feedback.



  • Any item(s) not listed in the eligible categories above.
  • Only the basic eBay Insertion Fee will be reduced to 5 pence and only the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature fee will be offered for free. All other eBay.co.uk fees will still apply including but not limited to Final Value Fees, optional Reserve Price Fees, and all other Listing Upgrade Fees such as "Subtitle", "Bold" or "Highlight".   • Shops Inventory Format listings. See the full details about listing items using Shops Inventory Format.
  • Identical listings that do not comply with our Duplicate Listings policy. See the full details about our Duplicate Listings policy.
  • Any listings which do not comply with our Listing Policies or Prohibited and Restricted Items policies.
  • Multiple-Item listings in all formats. This includes both Auction-style (also known as Dutch Auctions) and fixed price formats. See the full details about Multiple-Item listings.
  • Sellers listing items using the Auction-with-Buy It Now format will still be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee for Buy It Now.
  • Any item listed on Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th February but scheduled to start after the promotion has finished will NOT qualify for the promotion.
  • Sellers can select items they list to only appear on eBay express. These listings are excluded from this promotion.




  • If an item is listed in 2 eligible categories, the Insertion Fee will be 5 pence times 2 i.e. 10 pence.
  • If an item is listed in 2 categories and only one category is an eligible category, the "sell your item" form will indicate to the seller that they have been charged the reduced Insertion Fee of £0.05, and if applicable, that they will not be charged the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature fee when listing the eligible item. Regarding the second item not listed in an eligible category, the "sell your item" form will indicate to the seller that they have been charged the normal eBay.co.uk fees for listing the item, and if applicable, it will also indicate that the seller will be charged the normal fee to use the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature.
  • If an item is listed in an eligible category, the "sell your item" form will indicate to the seller that they have been charged the reduced Insertion Fee of £0.05 and if applicable, that the seller will not be charged the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature fee.
