Why am I being charged the full price for the Insertion Fee and Gallery Listing Upgrade Fee when I am offering free postage? If you are listing using the old version of the "Sell Your Item" form it will not indicate the promotional fees that you will be charged. If your item is eligible you will instead see from the "My account" section of "My eBay" that the promotional fees have been applied to the item you listed. Can I include postage options that are not free in my listing? Yes. Your listing can include postage options that require payment as long as your first postage option on the SYI form list is free to any UK address. For example, you could include a second postage option of next day registered delivery that costs the normal rate and still qualify for the promotion. Will my free postage listing(s) appear on the main eBay.co.uk site? Yes. Your listings will appear on the usual listing pages and in addition will be shown to members that conduct a 'free postage' search from the dedicated free postage hub. What do I do if someone bids on my item from outside the UK? As long as you offer a free postage option to all UK addresses when you list your item, you will also be able to include other postage options for the items you list that are not free. For example, you will be able to offer postage to an address outside of the UK and charge the normal rate. Does eBay cover the cost of postage? No. The seller covers the postage costs. However, by offering a free postage option the seller will be charged a reduced Insertion Fee and will be able to use the Gallery Listing Upgrade feature for free for each item listed. Sellers will also benefit from additional marketing to promote free postage items and a dedicated free postage hub page. |
