In 2008 we advised that you’d be required to add a dispatch time to all your listings by mid-March of 2009. Now that we know you’ll be checking your listings to take advantage of the new view item page we’re extending the deadline to late June so you can make all required changes to your listings at one time. This will also help you to take advantage of the new Smart FAQs feature. Improved bulk editing and relist tools will make it easier to revise your listings.

For registered business sellers, there is now a default dispatch time of 2 days if none has been specified by the seller.

When will my listings be required to include dispatch time and my return policy?
Starting in mid-June 2009, all new listings will be required to include how long you'll take to send the item and a return policy. You’ll have until mid-September to update Good ‘Til Cancelled listings.

Why require dispatch time?
We want to help narrow the gap between buyers' expectations and their experiences by providing this information up front. Buyers want to know when they can expect to receive their items and if they can return them. We'll calculate an estimated delivery (a range of time) using your specified dispatch time and postage service.

Will all categories require dispatch time?
No, not all categories will require dispatch time. Real Estate, Specialty Services, and Motor Vehicles (with the exception of Parts and Accessories) will not require dispatch time.

Will all listing formats require dispatch time?
No. The following formats won't require dispatch time:

• Property Ad Format
• Want It Now
• Classified Ads

What if my item is available for local pickup? Do I still need to specify a dispatch time?
If your item is available for local pickup only, you don't need to specify a dispatch time. If your item is available for local pickup and can also be posted, you'll need to specify a dispatch time for the other postage method(s).

How will delivery estimates be calculated?
We calculate estimated delivery time based on your specified dispatch time and the estimated times provided to us by the postage service. Delivery estimates are calculated as a range of days, not a specific date, and are shown for domestic postage only.
