Seller News April 2010

Rewarding more sellers for excellent service

This first Seller News for 2010 focuses on changes that reward sellers who provide consistently high levels of service. These changes will go online from the week commencing 23 March through the first week of April, giving you time to get your business ready.

  • To reward more sellers who deliver consistently great service, the sales level to reach the PowerSeller status will be lowered from April 2010. This means more sellers will be able to enjoy the discounts and benefits of the PowerSeller programme, including the eBay Top-rated seller status. Find out more about the PowerSeller update
  • At the same time, the minimum performance standard for selling on eBay will be raised to ensure a consistently high level of service across the marketplace. Find out more about the new performance standard

Free postage & packaging requirement to be removed

  • The free postage & packaging (P&P) requirement for all categories where it’s currently mandatory will be removed and replaced with maximum limits to P&P charges by 8 February 2010. These changes are in response to sellers’ requests for alternative options to prevent excessive postage charges – especially for listings in the auction-style format with a low starting price.
