From 20 October, we’ll be introducing greater stability for eBay Top-rated sellers. Sellers will have a grace period to bring their performance back up to eBay Top-rated seller standard without losing their status and benefits if they fall to Above Standard.
eBay Top-rated sellers who have maintained their status for 3 consecutive months before evaluation and who fall to Above Standard status will qualify for the grace period. This will help to reduce the disruption and uncertainty caused by a one-off low rating, allowing sellers to focus on running their business.
eBay Top-rated sellers tell us that the temporary loss of their status due to unforeseen issues makes it difficult for them to plan their business. In response, we’re giving a grace period to create a more predictable and stable business environment.
To qualify for the increased stability of a grace period, eBay Top-rated sellers must:
If your seller performance is based on transactions over the past 3 months, you will receive up to 2 months grace period. If it’s based on transactions over the past 12 months, you will receive up to 4 months. If you are evaluated as below Above Standard during your grace period, the grace period will end immediately.
Sellers who don’t meet the requirements for eBay Top-rated seller status after the grace period has expired, will lose their eBay Top-rated seller status and benefits.
Your Seller Dashboard will show whether you’re eligible for the eBay Top-rated seller grace period. It will also tell you if you’re in a grace period, when it started and when it may expire. You will also receive an email notification with these details.

If you can’t meet the eBay Top-rated seller requirements by the end of your grace period, you will lose your eBay Top-rated seller status and benefits.
If, during your grace period, you are evaluated as Standard or Below Standard, your grace period will end immediately and you will lose your eBay Top-rated seller status.
The detailed seller ratings chart on your Seller Dashboard will show a 12-month average, if your evaluation period is 12 months.
Sellers with 400 or more transactions over the past 3 months are evaluated on their transactions with buyers from the last 3 calendar months. For all other sellers, the evaluation period is based on transactions with buyers from the last 12 calendar months.
