Fee changes for business sellers
From May 2011, we are simplifying the final value fee structure, making our pricing more transparent. We are also lowering some insertion fees meaning you can list more. Fees will decrease overall for many sellers, but may increase for some.
Simpler pricing will make it easier for you to predict and calculate your eBay fees. Find out how your fees will change.
In the last 3 months of 2010, business sellers on eBay took advantage of the increasing customer traffic on eBay to grow their sales 20% compared to the same period in 2009*. We're continuing to attract more buyers by enhancing the online shopping experience for buyers.

Delivering great value
eBay continues to deliver great value for your fees. Last year we:
- Helped business sellers take advantage of eBay's customer traffic to grow overall sales 20% year over year in the 4th quarter of 2010
- Introduced improved shopping experiences to help buyers find and buy your items more easily
- Launched new on-site merchandising to show your products to more buyers
- Released new listing, editing and analytic tools
- Increased account management support
Simplified final value fees
From May 2011, we are simplifying the final value fee structure.
Whether you choose to sell in auction-style or fixed price, your final value fee will be a flat percentage of the final selling price, which varies depending on the category you sell in.
Choose the format that is best for your item: there will no longer be a final value fee difference between auction-style and fixed price listings.
Simpler, flat final value fees will make it easier to predict and calculate your eBay fees when you successfully sell an item.

Insertion fees
We're also lowering some insertion fees, reducing your upfront risk and enabling you to list more items for the same price.
What's changing:
- Zero insertion fees for Anchor Shops
- Insertion fees halved for Basic Shops
Feature fee changes
There will be changes to the Buy it now and Reserve features in most categories.
Changes to auction-style with Buy it now
If you create an auction-style listing with Buy it now, you must have a 40% difference between the Buy it now price and the auction-style start price. For example, if you list an item in auction with a start price of £10, you'll not be able to put a Buy it now price lower than £14.
Fees for this option will increase in May.
Changes to the Reserve option
If you choose to use the Reserve option, your fee will increase from 2% to 3% of the Reserve price.
