You can now use item specifics to show a manufacturer warranty in your Electronics listings. Some sellers already show manufacturer warranty details in their item description but using the new item specific field will help make it easier for buyers to find it in search.

Many buyers look for the manufacturer warranty in a listing for extra confidence and reassurance in their purchase. Including these details in your listings can help lead to an increase in sales, especially for higher value items.

From today, the manufacturer warranty will be clearly shown to buyers in the product description of electronic items.

What you need to do
Now Use the new item specific field to show the manufacturer warranty in your listings.
Now Buyers will see the manufacturer warranty displayed in the product description when it has been added as an item specific.

If I'm selling a used Electronics item, can I show the manufacturer warranty?

If you sell used items, check the warranty terms and conditions to see if the warranty is transferable.

Can I use the new manufacturer warranty item specific to show all types of warranty?

No this item specific field is just for manufacturer warranties.

Will it be mandatory to include details of a manufacturer’s warranty?

No, it won’t be mandatory but we encourage sellers to add this as it provides more benefit to buyers and we’ll be promoting this to buyers on the item page and in item specifics.

Will there be an option for me to add a non-standard manufacturer’s warranty?

The options provided in the drop-down menu will be industry standard warranties. Sellers will not be able to add their own options but can choose the ‘Other’ category if they have a non-standard manufacturer’s warranty.
