Improve listing practice

Review your listings using our guide to good listing practice to help get the most out of new features.

Category and item specific changes

Familiarise yourself with the category and item specifics changes. If the changes affect you, be ready to amend your listings from 3 May.

Catalogues in more categories

From 2 May, all listings in affected categories should be listed with a matching product or they will be automatically removed.

Drive sales with My Vehicles

Make sure you've assigned compatible car models to your parts listings. If you don't, buyers may not be able to locate your items using My Vehicles and you'll risk losing sales.

Manufacturer warranties in Electronics

Use the new item specific field to show the manufacturer warranty in your listings.

Buyers will see the manufacturer warranty displayed in the product description when it has been added as an item specific.

eBay Buyer Protection updates

From 1 April, eBay Buyer Protection will cover purchases made in the additional categories.

Catalogues in more categories

From 2 April, start listing and relisting your affected items with matching products from the eBay catalogue.

eBay Top-rated seller discounts reduced

The new eBay Top-rated seller discounts apply for transactions from 1 May.

From 2 May, all listings in affected categories should be listed with a matching product or they will be automatically removed.

Fee changes in technology and vehicles categories

From 3 May, the final value fees in technology categories will increase from 3% to 5%.

On the same date, insertion fees for auction-style and fixed price format listings in the Vehicles category also increase from £8.00 to £10.00.

From 3 May, categories and item specifics will be updated on the site.

June

Legally compliant returns policies

From early June, opt in to using business policies and review your automatically generated returns policy information.

Select your returns policy options to define the number of days in your returns period and who pays the return postage. Make sure your options are consistent with your free text on returns for all associated listings.

Handling time changes

By the end of June, if your item needs a handling time of more than 3 days, select a reason to explain the longer handling time for that item using business policies.

Save time with business policies

By mid-July, opt in and start using business policies for postage, returns and payment information.
