What is Mutual Feedback Withdrawal?
Mutual feedback withdrawal allows members to withdraw feedback for a transaction if both members are able to agree on a resolution. Withdrawn feedback is not counted in the feedback score or rating totals but remains in the list of comments.
Once both members agree by completing the online form, feedback left by both parties is withdrawn at the same time. If a member has not left feedback for the transaction, by agreeing to mutual feedback withdrawal, they will give up the ability to leave feedback for the transaction.
How does mutual feedback withdrawal work?
Once both members agree to withdraw feedback via the online form, both feedback ratings will be withdrawn.
How does my feedback score change?
When feedback is withdrawn, the feedback comment will stay. However, the positive, negative, or neutral rating associated with that comment will no longer be shown or count in your feedback score. Depending on the type of feedback withdrawn, your score will increase, decrease or remain the same.
Will I still be able to see feedback comments that are withdrawn?
Yes. Comments will remain, though an eBay notation explaining that the feedback was mutually withdrawn will be inserted under the comment. The notation will differ when a mediation service (find out more about SquareTrade) eBay's preferred dispute resolution provider) recommends removal because one member did not participate in the mediation process.
Both the feedback rating and the comment can be removed for violations of eBay's Feedback Removal and Abuse Policy.
What if I haven't left feedback?
If you haven't left feedback and you complete the mutual feedback withdrawal process with your trading partner, you will no longer be able to leave feedback for this transaction. This will occur as soon as both members have completed the process.
How many times can I request mutual feedback withdrawal?
You may only request mutual feedback withdrawal once for each feedback left. You should only make such requests if both you and the other person have already agreed to have the feedback removed in advance. There is also an initial limit of 5 requests per 30 days.
Is there a time limit to requesting mutual feedback withdrawal?
Members may initiate a request to mutually withdraw feedback within 30 days of either person leaving feedback or within 90 days of the transaction end date, whichever is later
What happens if the other member doesn't agree to withdraw feedback?
If either member won't agree to withdraw the feedback by completing the form, any comments and ratings left for that transaction will remain and there will be no change in either member's feedback profile.
Is there a charge to use mutual feedback withdrawal?
No. There is no cost to use the system.
