What is the PayPal 'Shop without Sharing' Promotion?
A fun promotion in which eBay registered users who buy an item on eBay.co.uk using PayPal between 20th March and 17th April will be eligible to enter into prize draws to win a Mini Cooper S Convertible and other great prizes. Just visit the 'Shop without Sharing' pages on eBay.co.uk and click on the "Enter Now" button. Enter your eBay User ID and item number when prompted to be entered in the Weekly Prize Draw and the Grand Prize Draw.
Why do I have to enter my eBay User ID?
We require you to enter your eBay User ID for identification purposes so that we know you are an eBay member and we can easily contact you should you win a prize. Please be assured that your personal information (password, bank and debit and credit card details) are protected and not shared with third parties. eBay will not ask for your password to enter this promotion. I have more than one eBay account. Can I take part in the promotion using all my eBay User IDs from all my eBay accounts?
Yes. Members with multiple accounts can take part in the promotion under different User IDs, but to offer a fair chance to all entrants, you will only be eligible to win a maximum of one prize per person (not User ID) throughout the promotional period regardless of how many entries you have made. In addition to being eligible to win one of the Weekly Prize Draw prizes, you will automatically be entered into the Grand Prize Draw and be eligible to win the Grand Prize of a Mini Cooper S Convertible.
What if someone else uses my eBay User ID to enter the promotion?
If another member uses your eBay User ID to enter the promotion, they could help you to win a prize, but will not benefit themselves. Please be assured that your personal details remain protected and you will not need to give your password.
When can I enter?
The promotion begins at 00:00:01 BST on Monday 20th March and finishes at 23:59:59 BST on Monday 17th April 2006.
Are there any entry requirements?
Yes. Buyers need to be registered eBay users, be resident in the UK and have a PayPal account. To enter you will also need to either: (1) successfully buy an item on eBay.co.uk and pay for it with PayPal (within 24 hours) between 20th March and 17th April, or (2) enter the promotion via the no purchase necessary route detailed below.
How do I win prizes?
You will be entered into the Weekly Prize Draw and be eligible to win one of the Weekly Prize Draw prizes; and also automatically be entered into the Grand Prize Draw for your chance to win a Mini Cooper S Convertible by either: (1) successfully buying an item on eBay.co.uk and paying for it with PayPal between 20th March and 17th April as well as entering the item number on the promotion page, or (2) entering the promotion via the no purchase necessary method by (a) going to the "Shop without Sharing" landing page (b) clicking on the "Enter Now" button (c) entering your eBay user ID and writing the text "no purchase" in the "item number" box on the Promotion Page and (d) clicking on "Submit."
When and how do I play the 'Play it Safe' game?
You can play the Play it Safe game every time you are successfully entered into the Weekly Prize Draw. Each time you play, you may earn yourself an additional entry into the Weekly Prize Draw. In a race against the clock, you have to use your mouse to navigate around the bedroom and drop 10 items that you would never share with a stranger into the safety of your trunk. Pick 10 correct items before the time runs out and you will earn an extra entry into the Weekly Prize Draw. Be careful, if you pick the wrong item you'll suffer a time penalty.
What is the item number and where can I find it?
The item number is the is the 10-digit number you'll see on the top right-hand side of any View Item page. Every listing on eBay has a unique item number

Do I have to buy an item to enter the Weekly Prize Draw?
No. In order to enter the Weekly Prize Draw via the no purchase necessary route, you must (a) go to the "Shop without Sharing" landing page (b) click on the "Enter Now" button, (c) enter your eBay User ID writing the text "no purchase" in the "item number" box on the Promotion Page and (d) click "Submit."
How many times can I enter the Weekly Prize Draw?
You may enter the Weekly Prize Draw once for each item you buy. There is a limit of five "buy" and five "no purchase" entries that you can make each day during the Promotional Period. You may also gain an extra entry into the Weekly Prize Draw by playing our 'Play it Safe' game (see above for details). You will be able to play 'Play it Safe' each time you enter the Weekly Prize Draw.
How many times can I enter the Grand Prize Draw?
You can enter the Grand Prize Draw once. You will automatically be entered into the Grand Prize Draw and be eligible to win a Mini Cooper S Convertible when you successfully enter the promotion.
How many times can I win?
You can win one Weekly Prize Draw prize throughout the promotional period.
Each person who enters the promotion successfully will also be entered into the Grand Prize Draw for a chance to win a Mini Cooper S Convertible.
If I win a prize, when will I receive it?
Weekly Prize Draw prizes
There will be Weekly Prize Draws for the Weekly Prize Draw prizes which will take place at midnight on 27 March, 3 April, 10 April and 17 April. Winners of each Weekly Prize Draw will be notified by telephone or email to the telephone number or email address provided to eBay within 14 working days of the draw taking place. Winners will receive their prizes within 28 days of the end of the Promotional Period.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible Grand Prize Draw prize
There will also be one Mini Cooper S Convertible Grand Prize to be won. The Grand Prize Draw will take place on the 18th April at midnight and one winner will be randomly selected from all the valid entries received during the promotional period. The winner of the Grand Prize Draw will be notified by telephone or email to the telephone number or email address provided to eBay within 14 working days of the draw taking place. The winner of the Mini Cooper S Convertible will agree a collection time with PayPal and the winner shall be responsible for collecting the vehicle from a west London location.
What if I enter the same item number twice?
Each combination of eBay User ID and item number will only be a valid entry once during the promotional period. Subsequent entries for the same item number will not be valid.
When I enter my item number nothing happens. Why?
When you enter an item number, we check that your entry complies with our terms and conditions. If you see a message saying that your entry is not valid, please follow the advice given on screen.

Why is the entry window not hosted by eBay or PayPal?
eBay and PayPal are working with a trusted partner site to provide the best possible experience for your enjoyment. Your personal details will not be shared and you will not be asked for your password or bank details. However, you will need to enter your User ID for identification purposes only.
How will I know that the emails I receive about the promotion are genuinely from eBay or PayPal?
eBay and PayPal will send official eBay and PayPal communication about the promotion to your registered email address.
