Making an optional donation to charity on eBay

By adding a little extra to your purchase, you can support a good cause when you shop on eBay.

How it works

When you pay for an item you've won on eBay, you can give £1 to a featured charity. If you choose this optional donation, your total transaction cost will increase by £1.

To give £1 from eBay checkout:
  1. Tick the box that says Add a £1.00 donation to my order.

  2. Pay for your purchase with PayPal. If you don't want to pay by PayPal, you'll be asked to go back and remove the donation.

Boosting your donations by 25% with Gift Aid

If you're a UK taxpayer, you can add 25p to every donation you make to your chosen charities. Thanks to the Gift Aid scheme, PayPal Giving Fund can reclaim the tax you've paid on everything you donate through eBay for Charity, and it doesn't cost you a penny.

To boost your donations, make a Gift Aid declaration, confirming your name and home address.

Note: To qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay more in income tax or capital gains tax than charities reclaim on your donations each tax year.

How your donation is collected

Your donation will be collected and delivered by PayPal Giving Fund, our partner charity. Note that the £1 donation will appear as a separate transaction, paid to PayPal Giving Fund, in your PayPal account. PayPal Giving Fund delivers 100% of your donation to your chosen charity.
