Thrill-seeking George was so excited to be hurtling down a mountain in a toboggan, that he spoke for the first time in months. Batten Disease had cruelly taken his voice, his mobility, and his independence. But his wish, quite literally put the world at his feet.
As his mum Claire explained: “I asked: ‘Are you having fun?’ He replied: ‘Yes!’ For the first time in over a year my son spoke. It was such a magical moment that I will never forget, and the wish brought that out of him. Make-A-Wish gives poorly children a moment of escapism from the
pain, sadness and challenges they deal with every day, and that’s priceless."
