Angela Scanlon is a TV presenter, fashion writer and go to girl for all things fashion.

Fashion dilemma
— Becky Jordan

"These are my favourite shoes out of my vast collection. But at the minute they are sitting looking pretty in my wardrobe. They are a cobalt blue colour and I just don’t know what to wear with them apart from quite a plain outfit? Any recommendations for a casual night time look for spring; also what colour of clutch would go? Should I match the colour of the shoes to the bag?"

Angela's style advice
I'd go for distressed boyfriend jeans in white and a striped, polka-dot (or whatever your favourite print) roll-up shirt, a statement necklace and a contrasting clutch in bright pink or orange. Avoid matching your shoes and bag, it’s a little old skool looking, and not in a good way! Alternatively, combine with head-to-toe statement monochrome prints. Go ethnic-inspired like Pucci, Valentino and Dries van Noten or take a dreamier route with painterly prints as seen at Christopher Kane and Celine.

"I’m a bit of a shoes fan, and loved the look of these. I haven’t got the skinniest of legs and I feel the strap around my ankle just makes my legs look wider. I really don’t want to give them away or let them just sit in my wardrobe. Have you got any ideas of what I can wear with them?"

Angela's style advice
I too am a shoe fiend and I don't like to be limited in my choices. I'm glad you went with your heart rather than your head, I think shoes are like men and should be approached accordingly! If you're conscious of your legs this colour was a great call as it won't break the line of the leg in the way a dark or bold colour would. I think you're best to stick with similar tones; blush pinks, soft peaches, nudes and rich creams to create a cleaner silhouette and ensure your legs don't become the focal point. Alternatively opt for the skirt style of the season and rock a midi. Don't be put off by the name and the notion that you can only wear if you're 6ft tall. A midi will cover the legs revealing a slim ankle and delicious shoes, if you're ultra paranoid wear a bright colour or statement print on top to draw the eye up.

"I love this little crop jumper, especially the colour and how it’s lightweight. I’ve only worn it a couple of times though as I’m pear shaped and my bottom half is a lot heavier so when I wear high-waisted jeans with it I feel a little uncomfortable. I was wondering if you know of any ways to wear it whilst slimming down my bottom half? "

Angela's style advice
Although I never imagined myself uttering these words, ever. It may be time to take some inspiration from Kim Kardashian. She is the owner of the most popular bum on the planet right now and she definitely relishes the attention and embraces her curves. I think you should do the same. Team your crop knit with a fitted pencil skirt and killer heels. A crop jacket will give you coverage without covering your curves.

"I have this playsuit with cute pineapples on it that’s a bit different. It’s a halter neck but I’m a bit self-conscious of my wide shoulders. I’ve been wearing it with a cardigan while it’s not that warm, but in the summer is there anything I can wear with it that will go to cover my shoulders but also keep me cool (not a big cardigan)? "

Angela's style advice
Pineapples have the same devastatingly joyful effect on me as flamingos. Everything is better when it's adorned with either! This is so cute. You could layer a baseball jersey top underneath or a crisp white tee, it feels fresh and gives you coverage but isn't bulky. Try a slick tuxedo blazer, elegant pointed courts and a box clutch for evening time to give it a nice twist. Wear at a festival with fringed boots or trainers and your favourite leather jacket: the ideal combination of playful meets punk.
