How does eBay consignment work?

It’s easy! Simply fill out the consignment intake form linked in this page. Then, submit your consignment intake form, print your postage label(s), and send in your items to the partner. eBay consignment is conducted by a large and experienced partner. Once our partner receives your item(s), their team of professionals will research the item(s) and send a competitive selling quote, which you will have 7 days to accept or reject. The partner will contact you to obtain further information for items over the value of £10,000. Upon you accepting the selling quote, the partner’s team of professionals will do item and quality checks, and then photograph, price, and list the items for you on ebay.co.uk. In the event that the item does not sell after 90 days, it will also be listed on the partner's own website. Simply wait for your items to sell, and then collect your earnings.

What happens if I submit multiple items under one submission? Are the selling prices aggregated to qualify for a higher commission rate, or are the commission rates calculated on a per item basis?

Proceeds percentage rates are calculated on a per item basis. If you submit multiple items under one submission form, your proceeds percentage for each item's selling price will be individually calculated.

Does the partner inspect the items?

Yes, the partner will carry out checks on the items. These include but are not limited to, the partner reviewing that the item matches the consignment intake form, and the partner performing various quality checks prior to listing.

How do I post my items?

After you complete the consignment intake form and let the partner know how many boxes you need, the partner will email you a prepaid postage label for the number of boxes you indicated. These postage labels enable you to post  the items you input on the consignment intake form to the partner’s facility. Please make sure you pack and parcel your items securely. To help ensure your postage arrives safely, each postage label is insured for the total value of your consigned item(s).

How are my items priced?

Our partner’s inventory team will thoroughly research your items and obtain a fair market resale value. This is one of the most time consuming parts of the selling process, which the partner now handles for you. The partner takes into consideration age, style, designer, comparable sales, and condition. If an item doesn’t sell after 60 days, our partner will proactively make a moderate price reduction to help generate a sale. Rest assured, the partner is invested in these items and share a common goal to sell each and every item for the most the partner reasonably can.

Should I include any accompanying items with the product?

Accompanying items, including (but not limited to) authenticity cards, paperwork, or original branded dust bags, can increase the resale value of your items. Please include any accompanying items if you have them available. If you do not have any accompanying items to include, do not worry. The partner’s team of professionals will endeavour that you still achieve a competitive selling price for your luxury items.

Can I consign my items if I am posting from outside the United Kingdom?

Items posted from addresses outside of the United Kingdom are not eligible for eBay consignment at this time.

How long will the consignment process take?

Most items consigned with our partner sell in 15 days or less. However, the time from initial consignment to sale varies due to factors including, but not limited to, seasonality, customer demand, and condition. In the event that the item does not sell after 90 days, it will also be listed on the partner's own website.

How long will it be until I receive my payment?

Our partner will notify you once your item sells. Provided the item is not returned, our partner will issue payment to you via bank transfer 30 days after the sale.

How long will the partner hold my items for consignment?

The consignment period begins on the date your items are listed for sale. Our partner will continue to relist your items for sale for up to one year from the date of listing, unless you notify our partner otherwise. If you have items that remain unsold after that one year, it is your responsibility to contact our partner to arrange their return by emailing  customercare@luxecollectivefashion.com. The return postage cost is £40 per item (excluding Hermes Birkins, which have a return postage cost of £150). If the partner does not hear from you within a month after the expiry of that year, the items will become the partner’s property.

How can I track the progress of my consignments?

Progress information is available upon request. Please email our partner at customercare@luxecollectivefashion.com with your name and tracking number, and a representative from the partner’s team will be in touch with a status update within 48 hours of your request.

What if the item is rejected at receipt at the facility or I want the item back?

If the item is not an eligible item for the programme, is unable to be listed, for example because of low resale value, condition, or you reject the selling quote, our partner will reach out and let you know your options. You can work with our partner to arrange a return. The return postage cost is up to £20 per item.

If your item is rejected following the partner’s checks or you ask for the item back after the partner’s checks or listing, our partner will reach out to you to arrange a return. The return postage cost is £40 per item to cover the processing and delivery (excluding Hermes Birkins, which have a return postage cost of £150).

Where am I posting my item to?

You will be posting your item to our partner’s facility, where your item will be reviewed by the partner's team of professionals before you are sent a selling quote.

Will my shipment be insured throughout transit?

Yes, your shipment will be insured by the partner throughout the consignment transit, so you can have peace of mind when sending in your item. Please note the insurance is only in effect once the package receives a pick up scan from the postage carrier confirming receipt.

What happens if my item is unable to be listed?

If your item is unable to be listed, for example because of low resale value, condition, not being an eligible item, or you reject the selling quote, our partner will reach out and let you know your options. You can work with our partner to arrange a return. The return postage cost is up to £20 per item.

If your item is rejected following the checks or you ask for the item back after the checks or  listing, our partner will reach out to you to arrange a return. The return postage cost is £40 per item to cover the processing and delivery (excluding Hermes Birkins, which have a return postage cost of £150).

Will the items I consign go through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee programme?

If the items sold on eBay.co.uk are £500 or more and meet the Authenticity Guarantee’s eligibility criteria, they will go through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee programme. For such items, you also confirm that you agree to the Authenticity Guarantee’s Terms and Conditions.

eBay does not take possession of your item in eBay consignment unless it goes through Authenticity Guarantee.

In the event that any verification or listing concerns are flagged while the item is being inspected by our authenticators, the partner will reach out to you directly.

What are the benefits of eBay consignment versus selling an item myself?

Often, the most time consuming part of selling your item is the listing process. In eBay consignment the partner handles all of the researching, photographing, pricing, and listing so that you get the most competitive value for your luxury bag. You will then receive the proceeds of your sales (see “Your Sales Proceeds’ Percentage” above).

Where is my postage label?

Once you submit the consignment intake form, a postage label will be automatically generated for your consignment. If the insurance amount you request for your shipment is above a certain threshold, you may be contacted directly by our partner to confirm the valuation for your items. They will reach out to you first before emailing the insured label to you. Labels can also be delayed if your phone number, postcode, or address are not valid. Always make sure to double check your information is correct before submitting your consignment intake form. If you cannot find your postage label in your email inbox, you may also want to check your spam or junk mail folder. The postage label will come from our partner’s email address, sell@luxecollectivefashion.com , other correspondence may also come from ebayconsignment@luxecollectivefashion.com. In the event you are not able to find your label, please email our partner directly at customercare@luxecollectivefashion.com.

  1. Description of eBay consignment

eBay consignment can help you earn money by having your no-longer-needed handbags and accessories (each an “Item”, and collectively “Items”) sold on eBay.co.uk (the “Site”) by an eBay third party partner (“Partner”).

The Partner will assist in obtaining your Items by providing you with a postage label to send your Items to the Partner’s facility. Upon receipt, the Partner will inspect the Item and confirm it matches the submission form. If the Item matches, then the Partner will send a selling quote (“Selling Quote”) to you which you can accept or reject.

Upon you accepting the Selling Quote, the Item will go through the Partner’s checks. The Item will then be photographed and listed on the Site on a consignment basis. If the Item does not sell after 90 days, the Item will also be listed on the Partner's own website.

If the Items on the Site are sold for £500 or more and meet the Authenticity Guarantee’s eligibility criteria, they will go through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee programme.

  2. Partner’s Services
