Try the trend: halo braid
The halo braid is the hottest hairdo of the summer, a crowning glory of a plait that adds a romantic and playful twist to your tresses.
Naturally the halo has become a red carpet favourite, but this plait is as perfect for parties as it is holidays or festivals.
Fresh off the catwalk, this pretty braid is full of whimsical Heidi charm but creating it can be tricky, so get our step-by-step guide below.
Failing that, fake it with a braided headband. If your hair is too short to braid tuck it into a plaited headband, or for longer locks pair a headband with mussed-up boho waves.
1. Section off and clip away the hair below the top of the ears to keep it separate.
2. Brush the rest of your hair forward and spritz on hairspray to smooth it over.
3. Starting at the left temple take the first chunk of hair and start braiding it as you would a French plait, taking an extra section of hair with each fold.
4. Continue clockwise all the way around your hairline until you reach the clipped section, unclip and incorporate this hair as you braid around the back of the neck up to the temple you started at.
5. Plait any leftover hair once the circle is complete, secure with an elastic band and tuck the end back on itself, pinning it behind your halo plait so it’s well hidden.
6. Finally, pin any areas that need it and pull out a few pretty flyaway hairs. Spray with hairspray.
